As a HKer now moved to UK, I do not expect changing the work ethics and culture over time. However, I shall do my best at my job, while not boosting among colleagues but to display the spirit of HK. 做事耍過到自己standard.
If the house inspector discovers special system problems, trades master are called to report on drainage, plumbing, roofing, electric …..etc . These tradesmen are billing separately.
Ppl could choose apartment if you don't want to worry too much of your house. I live in a house built in 1968. It is time to replace roof. Getting 4 quotes on the roof. Ranges from 45k to 25k USD. Having an old house does have more work to maintain. But it's totally if you enjoy living in bigger space such as backyard, grass, etc.
The United Kingdom has a vibrant economy and diverse landscape, but there's often a lingering feeling of "almost there" in various sectors. To truly excel, the UK needs a cultural shift towards a "right the first time" mentality. This means prioritizing quality from the outset, minimizing rework, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Edmund so glad you made this comment 10:50. HKers turned UK houses into 新界村屋😆. Pour concrete to cover the entire garden only good for drying salt fish😆. Total ignorance and extremely selfish. 自私
