ドジャーズファンもたくさん現地観戦しています。私の前の席で「Ohtani !!! Ohtani !!!」と狂喜乱舞して叫んでいる黒人女性も熱狂的なファンのようです。笑
大谷選手がNYに試合に来るたびに通い続けて、早くも3年目。ついにこの目で、生の大谷HRを見ることができました。
因みに、実際に見た感想として、去年までは「スイングスピードが爆速！」との印象でしたが、今年はゆっくりとバットを振っている様に見えます。今シーズン序盤のインタビューで「ボールを面で捉える」的な発言があったように、バッティングを試行錯誤して日々進化し続けている様です。
因みに、大谷にHRを打たれたピッチャーのJorge Lopez選手は、この直後のフレディー・フリーマン選手の打席中に審判と口論して退場になりました。退場する際に、グラブを観客席に投げ捨て、試合後のインタビューでも「NYメッツはMLBで最悪のチームだ」との問題発言があり、即日解雇となりました。
しかし、プエルトリコ出身で、スペイン語が母国語で、英語が苦手なLopez選手。実際には「私はMLBで最悪のチームメイトだ」と言いたかった様です 。私もインタビュー動画を何度も見ましたが、発音が不明瞭で、どちらにも解釈できる内容でした。また、幼い息子さんが病気に苦しんでいるようで、Lopez選手自身も精神的なストレスを感じていたそうです。情状酌量の余地ありですが、解雇は解雇。気持ちを切り替えて前に進むしかありません。早く次のチームが見つかることを祈っています。

I've been going to ball games to see Ohtani whenever I could since 2022. This was the first time to witness Ohtani's homer with my own eyes in a live game. Obviously it was super exciting !
I went to see the entire series at Citi Field where Dodgers did a sweep (won all 3 games) against Mets. Mets is in such disarray. They play competitively for a few innings and start disintegrating.
One other highlight of this game was Jorge Lopez getting ejected after disputing with the 3rd base umpire about check swing and getting DFA'ed on the same day, presumably because of his post game statement that Mets is the worst team in the whole MLB (in addition to his unprofessional conduct of throwing the glove into the stand)
I was curious and watched his post game interview a few times.
First, clearly English is not his native language and he was distraught (also we found out his son is suffering illness). I thought his sentence could be interpreted either way, as in either he said he was the worst team mate or he said the Mets is the worst team.
IMHO, we, as a society, really need to be charitable in interpreting statements like that. The media chose to sensationalize it instead.
Anyway, what's done is done. He needs to move on. Hope he finds his next team soon.
