Interpretation:
With the power of friendship, Maou manages to push through the hardships in front of her. Although it’s a gruelling battle, the group emerges victorious. Together they return back to the guild and with their comrades mourn the loss of their good (?) friend. Once their feelings have been put to peace, the group go their own ways, walking towards the future separated, but their hearts as one.
This song is about recognizing that life is hard; life will always be hard and there will always be pain. But that pain is worth it in order to reach the place you want to be. In the same way, Maou has decided that despite the world now being a terrible place, if she continues to press forward it can become the world that she envisions.
