oh gosh this video took so long i forgot to rig the hair shadows after the hair LOL please forgive me... and ignore all of my random editing mistakes it was a slog to get through!! AND DON'T FORGET TO SAVE THROUGHOUT !!! (#`Д´)
just to let anyone whos confused know, if your physics aren't working properly, in the physics settings under Input settings - Normalization of input, you need to set the Minimum to -35 and Maximum to 35, also set Position X minimum to -25 and maximum to 25. Under output settings set the scale to 41.263. this will achieve the same effect as in the tutorial. its shown in the video but it isn't verbally mentioned so you may have missed it like i did i hope this helps someone also thankyou chupuko for another amazing tutorial, my model is coming along great thanks to you
I'm just going to leave this here in case y'all need it. I'm at the physics part. I followed every step she made, but at the time to move the Angle X parameter (the default one), the red ball just wouldn't go all the way to the end. Look idk what I did, but I fixed it going to the Output Settings and raising up the number of Scale. And then it worked. Hope this helps you, have a nice day!
I had to do the same thing. I don't know what I did, but I thought at first it wasn't moving the aug phys x at ALL because it was so small of a movement; I had to turn the Scale up to 100 before it even moved the ball halfway to the correct size!
All your tutorials have been the most helpful and clear tutorials I've watched! Plus the videos are always so calming, including your voice!! Congrats on 6K!! From your early supporter! :D
i have only watched a few minutes but this is already so helpful 😭 you explained so many concepts i never understood in the program and i've been working in live2d for a while now! thank you for being so clear!
just wanted to say while watching this - thank you so much! all of your tutorials are so easy to understand and cover a lot of knowledge. and the way you edit the video and add comments actually adds a lot to the learning experience :)
i've been having problems with the last part where you set the physics for angle x and angle x physics. for some reason when i've set it up exactly like you showed, my model cant look left and right only up and down. is there a mistake that i've made that caused this? i hope you respond!
im having a lil problem with head physics at the end, when i put angle x in input and angle x physics in output in physics setting, the head stop moving, while draging left and right the head barely move and does nothing, i followed every step exactly as you did on the video but when its about to do the physics setting, it doesnt follow Q-Q
I have a problem. Im new to this, but I believe it's because I have warps on the eyes already. I can't set the eyes as a new warp because there are alr warps. any help would be appreciated. thanks
I've gone pretty far with the series so far, but I feel like it would've been nice to keep going with the step-by-step visual/verbal instruction 😭I got to the brows, but I think I missed something I was assumed to have gotten down by now as when the brows emote (like the happy or sad etc instead of just neutral), they jiggle, crinkle, or turn all squiggly. Kept trying to fix it but it wasn't working, so I just chose to start over from the point of the base brows and had to trash almost 8 hours of work Edit: Nvm it's on the eyes, too - bit different from the brows, but using the extra expressions like closing eye or eye widen, they don't sit right on the face
Draw order for art moving behind body parts is HORRIBLE! It creates this pop-in/out effect that looks like absolute garbo! I’ve seen so many decent rigs ruined with ears and hair that blink in and out of existence as the model turns. It looks SOOOO BAAAAD! Kids, do it like chupuko!!! Use masks! Unless you want your model to look completely dog!
PLEAZE HELP. I reflect it horizontally after making it all curvy and it looks super cursed and not how it’s supposed to please help me I have no fucking clue what I’m doing 😭🤌
i cant create the rotation deformer.. when i select multiples deformer an information dialog box pops up saying that i cant do that... do you know the why?
thank you for all your help so far! I've gotten further with ym first model than i ever have before because of this, it's super appreciated! :D best of wishes!
Hello! I've been following your tutorials and for some reason my physics don't have the bounce that yours has? Also, I'm not sure if you know how to fix this, but when I try to test my model out in Vtube Studio, the heads movements don't work at all? ;-;
So I got stuck as well with this as im learning but if you check in Input setting and see a section called "Normalization of Input" you can turn it to 100 for min, 0 for center and 100 max then you gonna want to go to the Output settings and where you assigned in the Output Example: "angle x physics" you'll see the words "Scale" on its side and change it. I put mine as 20.00 and my models head turned just fine afterwards. I hope this helps. If it doesnt turn more you can increase it. Do this to the others as you see fit.
This video has been SO helpful but even though i followed step by step, when i use the ''Angle x'' slide nothing moves, did i miss something? i rewetched the video and can't find it :(
omg! this was posted at the perfect time. I had just finished rigging and asking for criticism from a professional rigger who told me to work on this, so i appreciate your video!
For some reason when I take it into vtube studio it no longer tracks after adding the physics/aug to the head. ._. It was tracking fine on the previously exported version... (I should add that it works perfectly fine in the live2d physics viewer part of live2d, just not in vtube studio, my head doesn't move at all there)
Not sure what I did wrong, but the physics section in the end didn't work at all for me. I tried to keep up and think I have the same settings for input/output/pendulum set, but my pendulum wasn't moving at all.
@@ShellBie12 I hope i don't respond too late, but i had the same problem but what you can do is to select the objects that you want to glue together (in this case the face line and skin) and then manuel drawing the mesh. It will create the mesh on all the selected objects simultaneously. I dunno if it also works when you select both and then press auto mesh but i went the manual route. I know i might be late but better later then never xD (Btw i did that on Live2D v.5 so i dunno if it also works on v4) I hope i was able to help ^^
ok, I had my partner try to help me understand and looking back on this video I understand now😅. I didn't know you coculd use parameters in the physiccs window that had no 'keyframes' set.
These videos are always so detailed. I swear Chupoku must be an angel imparting knowledge on us peasants. In fact they may even be a God themself! I will continue to preach and praise the almighty. I wish for nothing more, but more blessings in the form of these videos for they have truly enlightened me. I hope to be able to use these videos to break through the next stage and attain my own path. When I have established achievements of my own, I will not forget about Chupoku. Thank you for the blessing.
when you had every single layer separated while drawing (i.e. face lines, base skin, shadows, ext) but were like "and now lets merge everything to go into Live2d!" ;u; Well... at least I got the main sections separated..
Help! I hope someone answers this question.. At the end of the tutorial, when I go to physics settings, i can't turn the head. Moving "Angle X" does absolutely nothing in the preview. The head only turns when I move the "angle x physics". An attempt to move it with the cursor only moves the eyes. Where did I mess up?
Oh oh, that happened to me, you have 2 options, first you create a group and put "Angle X" on input and "Angle X physics" on output and adjust to link them, or you hit "preview" and then "cursor tracking" and do your magic Hope this helped and God bless you :)
@@meysttar thank you so much for a reply! I've figured it out, for me the problem was in "output settings", I had to change the "scale" to a higher number :)
Love the video but I'm encountering lots of errors :(( oh well, it happens with all of the other tutorials so I doubt there's anything wrong! I really love how easy this tutorial series is to follow and how we can copy you in real time. Lots of other tutorials just show a model that they have already rigged and it's hard to follow so thank you for making my experience with Live 2D easier!
I'm not sure why, but in the physics settings when testing my head angles and setting up the physics, I have all the same settings as you showed, but the head is barely moving with my mouse, do you know why this may be?
Been trying to learn Live2D rigging for the past few months and seen so many tutorials, but yours are always the most relaxing and easy-to-understand. I appreciate all the work you've done Chupuko and have to mention you mentioning the Bezier Edit Type -> Smooth All options changed my workflow tremendously. Thank you! 🤲
Well.... success I think? My model looks extremely derpy when I'm at the furthest angles (hat especially looks messed up), but the bounciness makes it better. Edit: Hat looks better now (still not great, but better)! I realised I needed to separate the front flap from the hat part and rig them separately.
sorry but The Top left corner/Botom Left Corner and the same for the right side End it. I cant follow enything and the problem is the Eyes and More, with a big diferent eye shape its looks very wierd. IDk why but referenzes Killed the compelte design i guesse i Trashed my Model with Starting Eyes and More
is anyone else having problems with their eyes looking weird on the angles? like when the eyeballs look around, the pupils/irises don't line up anymore like they do when they're front-facing.
so... how does one hide away the art mesh lines when smoothing out the jagged edges on the face? like when I Shift+A I keep having to click on the object again because the program loses focus for it. Is there a different hotkey to hide those away, or do I just have to do that one extra click that'll take away my focus from what I'm working on?
Hi hi I have been having some problems. I fixed one which was the mouth not moving how it was supposed to. But now i have a new problem idk if its the software itself doing it or if i was supposed to do something. But when i go to physics and ”test out if everything works” the eyes pop out of yhe friggin wkull half of the time. And for no reason. I rigged them just like you showed but for some reason in the physics menu it doesn’t work how i hoped.
heyy! loved the tutorial, helped a lot! But- I have a question. How did you change angle x and y when you got into the physics settings?? I was doing everything on a physics x,y,z folder. I'm not sure if I was supposed to add something or if I missed something, because when I move angle X, the physics x doesn't move! if anyone knows how to help, pls tell me! cause I'm a little stressed out... haha... and if it's something I missed, pls leave a timestamp! thx! (again, tysm chupuko, u helped me sm through the whole rigging process!) update: FIXED IT! turns out I just had to change the output lol... i feel dumb- TwT
I think I have the same problem, when I move my Angle X, physics doesn't move. Please share, what did you change in the out put exactly to make it work? :o
Copy and pasting meshes isn't available in the free version, so now I'm stuck wondering what I'm even supposed to do next because it doesn't seem like any other tutorials out there offer an alternative either.
thank you for such an indepth tutorial !!!! i had been especially struggling with the ears on my new model, and most tutorials for ears are with animal ears... i love your idea with the clipping mask ! thank you !!
i have yet to touch live2D but your tutorials are so well made that i get it!! i know that it will take some time before i can make my own model but for now, just seeing someone use the program and explain it so clearly - its making me feel more confident about giving it a shot
I can't get my angle z to move in the testing. It moves in the model, but when I test it it doesn't work. I already set it to a mouse button in the preview but it did nothing. Can somebody please help me?
Thank you so much for all your tutorials!! They have been such awesome and thorough guides 🙏🥺 Even when you get through these tuts, I'm excited to see whatever content you do next, your editing is really cute and fun! ✨️
I wish I'd known about the Glue last week when I finished my model... I just selected the face line and skin together and moved both at the same time. Still worked, but glue would have been easier
Would it help to add a checker board pattern texture when making the turning deforms? That is what I was taught to do when uvw mapping in 3ds max back in college.
Your tutorials are great! thanks so much. can anyone awnser why Youd separate the line from the face? Is it so you can clip face elements to the skin underneath the line work?
i'm glad you like them !! you would separate the line from the face to have more control over the face layering/look, for example having the blush/shadows not affect how the line color looks. i also show why i use it at 35:50 !
ive been watching along with your tutials to make my first model and so far ive been loving every second! thank you so so much. the only issue ive had thus far was getting the Z axis to work T_T it goes all nightmare fule when i try
Really nice tuto, thanks ! But guys please make sure you didn't rig your mouth on the same deformer. I'm currently crying trying to figure out how I could mess up something so simple 😭
After I combined eyes with face angles, the original eye move I made doesn’t work anymore… can you tell me how to solve it?😭I’ve been stuck here for 3 days
Hi! I’m not sure if you’re still responding to comments(or if you ever were), but i just had a little trouble, i had rigged the eyes to properly move facing the right with the head, but when i reflected it so that it would go to the left, it look similar to when it was on the right, but just warped a tiny bit, basically it just took it and moved it to the other side, any ideas on what i should do?^^
Do you think art styles that are too abstract and simple is harder to rig cuz the hair pieces are so few they can't cover all the void area and inevitably looks flat? I am running into this problem. ..
Maybe, I made a lawyer with circle patch of color to cover top part of bald head, I stretch them to cover some places. Then I have another extra hair bundle that only shows up when the head turns sideways. And now I’m having problem with augmented physics tho it doesn’t bounceeee
I'm stuck on the eye part and when I am trying to warp them to shape them to the head it only lets me warp the corners of the eyes. I'm going crazy because I do not think anyone else is having this issue.
Everything is wonderful! Except my model's entire head just poofed when I went to reflect the motion on X. Dunno why but I had to do the left side of my face manually XD
ahhhgg gosh i know ive got some kinda weird problem butttt whenever i try putting the eyes into a warp deformer i always get the message "please create an object with the same parent deformer selected" n it kinda made my brain melt... ive been at it for like an hour and still havent found out what live2ds tryna tell me... edit: got it to work !!!! no idea how tho, beginners luck i guess edit#2: nevermind.. it looks absolutely horrid edit..3: YAYY!!! DID ITTTT it looks spine chilling but yknow,, thats fine.. least i did it fr !
Unsure if anyone else had this issue, but mirroring the x angles for the color + line layer adjustments just wasn't working for me. The full warp deformer reflect worked, but the others kept coming up short! I guess something was wrong with the centering of my canvas, because when I chose reflect motion -> and instead chose to use my centered Neck Angle Rotation deformer as the center, it worked perfectly!
its a really good tutorial, the only thing i would say bothered me is that you went over the mouth very quickly and didnt explain anything about it because from what i can see in involved the actual mouth too not only the angles, which is different from the parts before that and not i dont really know what to do because its not really shown other than that its a really good tutorial
i think i missed something with the angle settings. I tried doing the X Y physics but they didn't work for me :( im wondering if i forgot to add something so they pair up correctly?
Hey, so the mouth chart included mouths for vowels + emotions, right? Did I miss eyebrow rigging or did she skip it? Like expressions with the eyebrows..
i don't know why, but when i do the eyes the small one got weird out and i try to find any tutorials to just explained it, and found yours from the discords, thanks so much
This is super helpful! I look forward to the next one-- I've rigged 2 models in my time and I'm rigging my third one as of this month, you've shown methods I had never even thought about and it's quite inspiring!!
Decided to rig a character in live2d just last week because I learned I could use it as a virtual camera in discord. Your tutorials are so soft and soothing! but also very professional clear and knowledgeable. The line hiding trick is great, I didn't know how some models were able to do that 3d model look but now I do! Thank you!!
heya!! question, my eyes move together when i try to rig them to the face angles (e.g i try to rig +1 x 0y, and both eyes shrink/morph to what I tell the eye on the edge of the face to do, instead of just the one). I'm using Cubism Editor 4.2, and so far the few changes between this video's ver and the most recent updates seemed to have not changed much.. is it the engine, or the way I've warped my eyes?
