if chupoku has a million fans, then I am one of them. If chupoku has ten fans, then I am one of them. If chupoku has only one fan then that is me. If chupoku has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against chupoku, then I am against the world
step 1 for me: learn how to draw digitally i bought a pre made model for like 15 euros that literally anyone can use (which is on my pfp) so i want my own without having to pay millions
walked into this video just seeing if it was something i could put with the rest of the handy dandy art tutorials/references i keep around for fun, but i've gotta say you INSTANTLY brought a smile to my face with your personality and cute art and voice and WONDERFUL video editing. that's a sub from me, and i hope you have a wonderful day
This video is honestly exactly what I needed. I’ve watched a few tutorials previously, but have always been confused on what to separate and how that layering should look. So, seeing all of the later screenshots with the graphic was immensely helpful. Thank you, you kind soul😭😭💕
This video was so frigging helpful and cleared up quite a few things for me, especially the separation haha. Thank you so much for this!! (P.S your character looks lovely :,>)
You are an angel! Making a model and rigging it is so hard and you still give as a full tutorial! I have watched them all! Thank you Chupuko! I have always wanted to try and make a model! THANK YOOOU ♥♥♥♥
This video is really inspireing. I dabbled into live2d before but haven't done any serious work but I wanted to make a model for myself just to play with and get better at drawing. So this is really helpful and a big motivational step for me. Thanks for uploading
your tutorials are the best ones for starters by far. I've watched many and they didn't help as much as yours did. Thank you and I hope you keep making these.
Amazing video!!! live2d looks scary and I was pretty lost even tho there are a lot of tutorials out there but they never explaing things as simple as you did!!! Thanks for using beginner friendly terminology cause everytime I heard riggers talk I cried T-T Also your art style is super cute!!
I have made two models in Live2D so far ( half and full) , based of RU-vid videos. I struggle so hard to get the face angles right. Also when riggin the mouth I always end up with holes in the skin when talking. I hope you will go through everything step by step to completely finish a model. It would help so much! Oh and please do arm and leg movement T_T Thanks!
You have been extremely helpful with these videos! I am currently trying to create my own 2d Vtuber without commissioning out my work (because I am broke) and it is extremely difficult to find a step by step guide that shows you how to do everything. It’s like nobody wants to share details on how to do it because everyone wants you to do commissions! Thank you so much! Also I love your art work! It’s amazing!😊❤
Using this to start on my own, this helps me figure out a little bit of how to start approaching cutting my art up and everything I should consider! Thanks so much for some advice on this!
Thank you for the guide! The rigger of my model I did on a commission got mad at me months ago saying that my model division is outdated and alor of it is wrong. So now I decided to watch this before progressing on the model i am commissioned now. Thank you so much!
Hey, I'm an old-timey digital artist and I really like your style. Love your tutorial as I've been experimenting with the idea of vtubing as well since... ya know. I'm not photogenic and all. I just wanted to point out that dpi does not matter. Like, at all. When you are creating your canvas, all that you will work with is the 4k x 6k pixels that you specify, but dpi will only ever come into play when you take your art to print. And even then, it will only account if you print "Full Size" as it only then calculates how many inches the overall canvas is and uses the dots per inch (dpi) measurement. If you only ever use the model in digital media, you will not create more resolution by increasing the dpi as all that will accomplish is reducing the print size of the canvas. It's something I see a lot of digital artists using in a lot of tutorials, but its information that keeps getting passed around that is, frankly, wrong. You can use 72 dpi and it will absolutely not affect your final art resolution on screen.
im glad you liked my little guide!! i totally feel the same about not showing my face haha. i actually didn't know too much about that dpi issue-- i remember back in the day i would change my dpi on the canvas and felt like it was easier to paint, but i guess that was placebo for me and stuck lol. i do still recommend a higher dpi in these cases as the side of vtubing i'm in involves a lot of merchandise creation as well as making cardboard cut outs/banners/pillows/etc. of your model, and i do run a store so i'm used to just tossing 300dpi on all my canvases in general as a lot of manufacturers require it. i will keep that in note though, thank you !! ( ˘⌣˘)♡
for some reason I always had this weird connotation that Pinterest was a women's makeup + fashion website and while it does have a ton of that, it also has a ton of literally everything else. it's by far the best tool for finding more of a visual style or aesthetic, and any slight deviation there may be.
Thanks! Thinking about the seperation really clouded my mind and I started getting confused so this totally helped clear it up! As well as what I should think of before hand
I’ve been wanting to get into v-tuber rigging for a little while now; I just feel like it’s the next art medium I want to try! Anyways, I came looking for beginners tutorials so I can get a first good grip on this whole thing, but now I’ll definitely be staying because I really enjoy your videos so far!! Looking forward to more! :D
If i ever decided to become known, i would start off with a virtual model bc it seems very fitting for my artistic mind and my shyness. The hardest part will be figuring out a solid design as it seems nigh on impossible to make just one. But know for sure that it'll be completely non-human. A beastly looking being but very friendly even at a mere glance! I'll save this video for future reference if my dreams ever do come to fruition.
tbh i'm happy you were in my recommendation at the good time, i was about to stop everything i' was making (model art ect) , bc i was saying to myself that i can't do it bc "it's to hard" but now seeing your vid give me a little more confidence so thank you idk if my sentence is clear x) and know i'm gonna subscribe !
This video was absolutely fantastic! Lol I remember trying to make something so complex it made my head spin. I’m glad I stayed a bit simple but still unique
The only thing i am struggle when starting to make Vtuber model was Obviously the Separating :v But thank you for the separation guide, this ease my problem a lot when i wanted to start making one.
I was thinking about training to make my oc move and stuff like that, but didn't know how:/ , but your video popped up and the idea came to my mind again, Amma follow you and learn from you , waiting for any videos 🤍✨️
Accidently bump into this video in class , and I'll never regert it! Your explanations are clean and easy for beginners like me. Can't wait for more helpful informations!! Love from Taiwanese fan❤
Ah! A godsend! I’m a person with zero experience separating art for rigging as I’ve never made a vtuber model before or anything like it. So this is incredibly helpful
Ryuuky: She/Her: XtF: DemiGirl I'm a web graphics designer 🥴, and working in layers is fun 🤓. I tend to get lost on time with my projects 😅, and I thought it would be fun to learn. 😅
I wanted to learn how to rig cause I don't have the money to do those but I do have the artist skill to do characters well so this would be much easier but for rigging will be challenging so hope it goes well for me 😅
Tbh, I feel the brunette is the only poly one here. She’s giving both her partners the same energy, while the blonde is more attentive to the guy and the guy is more attentive to the brunette
Finally something understandable I will go back to this tutorial once I save up enough commission money to buy myself a tablet to get started on vtuber model of my persona
as an aspiring vtuber. I have found your videos very helpful and informational. I just had one question. What if i am doing this on pc. I don't have an ipad to draw out my character. I'm also still trying to familiarize myself with everything haha
im happy to hear that!! it sounds like you're new to digital art just from what i gathered here, so i would get myself familiarized with the basics if i were you ٩(•̤̀ᵕ•̤́๑) i personally use an ipad but started digital art with a basic mouse & keyboard on pc using programs like paint tool sai, clip studio paint, medibang, and even ms paint ! some people even draw their model on their phone. just a matter of what is available to you, and there are plenty of videos out there to help with the art portion of working on a model. good luck !!
The highest resolution I can get to before iBiS paint starts crying for help is 1440 by 2560 with 350dpi. Is this too low res and should I buy a better art program like clip studio before continuing?
well done very great video chupuko , would like to ask one question is the free drawing software called Krita a good choice ? because that is what i am using also , vroid , Virtual studio , Vtuber studio , and blender my plan is not just to make my models and stuff but to create my own anime series from manga to it's own category / genre , and do you have any ideas on where i should practicing i am still a novice when it comes to art but i am willimg to show you my skecthes from my sketch book , did not give myself the time to practice it because i needed a break , for pushing myself a bit too far
Can I ask what's the difference between the red coloured layers and the layers which has 4squares with a lock symbol? I'm using PS so I'm not familiar with other softwares much. Also Thank you for this video cause i'm finally motivated to make a model of my own!!!
the layers with the red line are clipping layers and the lock symbol are just alpha-locked layers! and im glad i could help motivate you :D good luck on your model !!!
great video! but i am a little confused. for the separartion, do the things need to all be on the same canvas? as in, say the eyes on the same canvas as hair, etc or does everything need to be on a seperate canvas??
