Every year France3 TV hosts the "Le village préféré des Français" voting. This year Mers-Les-Bains is one of 14 candidate villages.
With the rise of thalassotherapy and the opening of the railway to Paris in the mid-19th century, this small fishing village on the English Channel became a popular destination for wealthy British and French to build holiday villas. Today, more than 600 exquisite fairy-tale-like villas here are witnesses of this "Belle Epoque".
The nearly 900-meter-long beach front “Esplanade du Général Leclerc” is considered one of the most beautiful places in northern France.
Mers-Les-Bains is located next to Le Tréport, which we introduced in a previous video. Both villages have charming architecture, fresh seafood and beautiful coastlines overlooking the UK. They are definitely not inferior to the villages in south of France. I believe it will stand out in this competition.
