Liu Xiaodong ( born in 1963 ) is considered to be the leading figure of the "new generation" of contemporary Chinese realist painters and one of the most outstanding artists in China. His large-scale oil paintings are rich in color and natural, and his strong brushstrokes make his painting style extremely expressive.
