God….each and every version of this song pulls on the heart strings. This one being no different, I’m glad that Xion is finally reunited with Roxas and Axel(Lea) again.
I just watched “the other promise” right before this and watching these back to back opened the floodgates! These are such beautiful songs! But they’re so sad at the same time!😭
Been listining to multiple versions of your take on this song. And it just never misses! Definitely a lot of emotion put into this song which greatly reflects on what Xion has to put up with ever since she has been brought into existence.
This is beautiful, it sounds like a song that would be in a KH 358/2 Days musical. I can see it. The first few verses up until “I’m glad I got to meet you” is Xion initiating the fight. Then from 1:28 to 1:34 is a quick bit of fighting, then the stage lights go out and Roxas freezes, the spotlight is on Xion, and she sings the next couple lines to herself, and walks over to the frozen in place Roxas when she sings “You have given me so much…” up until “now you’ll all forget me” where she’s back into battle position, the lights go back on, then in that instrumental break there’s a bit more fighting. And then… Roxas: Xion! Don’t do this, it doesn’t have to end like this! But she just sadly shakes her head, and sings “don’t try to make me change my mind now” to “And I fell to the ground, emotion resounds” Ok here I imagine a bit of dialogue, more of Roxas trying to convince her that there’s a better way, she says that she wishes that were true… Then she sings “A part of me…” and at “I’m not ready” starts to get ready to fight him again. After “(Will you forgive me?) I imagine another brief fighting moment, until Roxas deals the last blow, at where there’s a loud sound, and the stage lights suddenly turn off. There’s a pause. And the spotlight is on Roxas and Xion. Roxas is dazed. Xion drops to her knees. Roxas: Who are you…again? I feel like I’m forgetting something important. Xion: You’ll be better off now. She falls, he catches her. The music is soft. It’s simple piano chords as she sings “Never knew I could feel this way…” up until “I’ll never forget you” And then… Roxas: Who else will I eat ice cream with? Xion puts a hand on his face and softly sings “Don’t be sad the memories…” and at the final line “they will stay” as she holds out the last note, she slowly closes her eyes. Roxas sheds a tear and sniffles, and curtain.
You’ve certainly improved since the original. Not that the original was bad, or anything, of course. It’s just that your voice has gotten a lot more steady, over the time since the original version. Sorry, I’m not good at properly expressing my thoughts, so I apologize if I sounded at all rude or like an overall ass, lol. Not trying to be.
You expressed your thoughts perfectly! Don't worry, I honestly think I sounded way below average when I first started singing. I'm really proud of the progress I've made, so thank you for acknowledging it!
It's so hard to find time to record new covers! This one was recorded a few months ago and I only just found time to edit it. Do you have any ideas for a KH song you'd like to hear? :)
