Thank you for the stream! What an interesting game, I've never seen it before so I'm going blind together with you and it is a very nice experience and story. Shiori is very brave and intelligent, solving puzzle and going through the horror! I'm okay with any stream time, I'm lucky enough to have an extremely flexible schedule! I like the puzzles and how it shows you on the map which ones you can solve at any given time. Lots of scares and good screams too. I remember playing the original game back in college on an old Pentium Netvista with Windows ME, it was janky as fudge but a fascinating game and my introduction to the Lovecraft Mythos, I'm glad Shiori decided to play the remake cause I hold this series very close to my heart, while others where playing Resident Evil or Silent Hill I was struggling with Alone in the Dark and Nocturne on that old PC...

Thank you for the stream! Alone in the Dark is super enjoyable, especially with you. I found myself really engrossed in the narrative and the lore; I think that's definitely a testament to the quality of not only its writing, but its game design as a whole. Definitely a big fan of how lovingly and interestingly the historical period is portrayed, as well as the choice to root the setting in real-world history! Though I still don't have much experience with horror, it does have me thinking about how many works of the genre lean into that realistic side for its setting... It's likely a choice made to enhance the fear factory of it all, to help immerse the player into the world easier so they're more emotionally involved once the scares begin to happen. With that said, I really liked the slow buildup, and the slower exploration/puzzle-solving sections too; the intro cutscene especially handled exposition in a really quality fashion imo, giving us the brief run-down of who the characters are through their banter while also, at the same time, estabilishing the setting and letting their personalities shine. Very inspiring! You've brought up the flowery language as well, and I have to agree on that point; it's used more sparsely than I'd think, yet sets the tone really effectively nonetheless. As someone not natively an English speaker, it's also great to broaden my vocabulary a little! Lots of cool and fancy words, this language does have~ The story idea, centering around not the "protagonist", but the side character, did absolutely get the gears turning... my mind immediately went to an almost cosmic horror-esque angle, with almost the entire universe, the "narrative", actively being biased against the POV character; with them either realizing it, yet being powerless to change it due to their status and predefined role, or maybe not even being able to do that much, leaving only the reader seeing the reality of their situation while they remain unaware, unable to recognize their predicament nor change it in any way. Subversion like this is always fun :D Tonight was a very nice time! Starting at 8 am is definitely much more socially acceptable than the dead of night. Regarding the timing of future streams, I do have a personal preference towards what would be nighttime to you; as I tend to sleep beforehand, streams at 4 am give me a good little treat to wake up for (much like, I remember you mentioning, morning streams do for you!), as well as are generally the best start to a day I could ever ask for, really improving my mood and loading me up with positive energy for whatever is to come. With that said, morning (for you) streams are more than fine as well; I'm lucky enough to have those fit neatly into my evenings, at the tail end of the day instead. Whichever you end up choosing, I will not mind one bit, and continue trying to catch and watch as many as possible. Looking forward to continuing the game tomorrow! This game took drinking the pain away while being Alone in the Dark very differently. The game has been chill. To be honest it hasn't been too scary for me, but it's still fun regardless! I love that they voice acted the notes, reading them all out loud would've been tiring. Also mirror reflections! Whoah! It looks like playing Emily or Edward changes how the story goes, but the gameplay stays the same. Thank you for the stream Shiori! Hope everyone gets to have their rests! Thank you for the stream! I can’t say for everyone, but I’m sure some of us don’t mind staying up for your streams. Afterall, you sure are alone a lot...in the dark. Anyway, the plot is quite a mystery, though with questionable what the heck moments. But it was fun watching your reactions as you figure things out, whether it's the puzzles or predicting possible plot points. You even got braver too! Fearing the monsters in the beginning and then you faced them with no fear, as long as you have a weapon in hand that is. So good job, toughing it out!

Shiori is still the absolute best. I bring this up because well one she kept calling Edward mister Ferrari despite the fact that she did see his name when she was selecting characters, next there was the fact that Shiori went off screen mode, after that there was the oh good god montage complete with so much screaming that I want to hug Shiorin and finally that moment when the female MC just randomly swing in a zip line when Shiori was all fire fire light the fire lol! This whole entire first part was literally just a greatest hits for shiori and you know it was a great time the minute she said oh c*** it was so dark I can't see lol! Somebody give this girl a cute Teddy bear because oh my God but still it is nice to see someone play this remake of Alone In the Dark because I Don't think I see that many people play this particular version or even acknowledge it exists aside from I think one reviewer who said that it wasn't that good of a game. But Hey at least it's great for content so great first part miss oh good God screaming about creepy monster things Shiori!

Kept myself in the dark for Alone in the Dark, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect when it came to the gameplay or story, but I was pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere and setting.The enemies have some really cool designs and the puzzles seemed to be pretty creative while still offering a decent challenge, but not to the point of halting the player's progress too much.Speaking of which, you did a really nice job at figuring those puzzles out and with the combat as well, especially with those dodges in the cramped rooms!I also found it cute how you went into so many rooms ready to take on the world by aiming your gun and shouting, "Freeze!" By the way, on the topic of trying out earlier times for streams whenever you're back at your home base, honestly I say go right ahead. While we've definitely grown used to the 8-9pm CDT start time, I think it'd be perfectly alright for you to test the waters with earlier times, whether it's around noon or earlier in the day if you felt like it. The noon streams that I've been able to catch have 100% helped time fly right on by for my shifts and I feel that you should go with stream times that work for you.Novelites are a hardy bunch and will more than likely be able to adapt to changes as needed. Hi Shiori~ I haven't really had a chance to watch the 1st Alone in the Dark VOD yet, but the way pre-chat described it to me, there were a bunch of scares and dodging involved (Btw, among others I don't remember off-hand, ty Remey, Solar, and Lashor! For catching me up in my, ig, limited time). Anyway, the dodging reminded me of Mortuary Assistant you played around, I think, Halloween last year. In particular, I remembered how you "dodged" the demons/scares, at least in the sense that they annoyed you more than anything else, much less scaring you most of the time Especially, I remember one demon occupying a fairly corpulent corpse (heh) and all but flying off the steel bed and mumbling nonsense at you and us and even saying some...questionable things And back then, I was just like, how dare he say and act in these sus ways towards my precious oshi It was a funny memory, ironically at least towards that guy I'll at least try to listen on in today's stream in a few minutes, hope you had sweet dreams, Shiori

The fact that our shiori is playing the remake of what is practically the grandfather of all survival horror genre is fascinating as everything that made games like resident evil for example the original did it first like: fixed camera angles, the robotic and clunky movement controls and i always wonder how this remake do compared to the original nice work as always detectvella. 😂 👍

I had no idea they were remaking this game again in 2024 on an LA Noir looking engine! I have heard the original was a very innovative early 3D horror game and I have the PS2 remake that no one like, but I've never played it yet...
