When I was a child we watched and waited, dreaming, imagining, what ending we would witness and cry as we slowly understood a chapter was closing in our lives. Now we who witnessed the golden age of anime are growing old. But we were young once like all of you now. One thing I can pass on to you young ones is hold on to your youth and follow your dreams. One day you will wake up older and help youths like I’ve and others have helped you, it’s a cycle that we must not let die.
Gundam Wing songs are absolutely incredible: Just Communication Rhythm Emotion White Reflection Last Impression They're all epic classics. Btw I just finished Gundam Wing and Endless Waltz today. The story and animation is ok, and both improved tremendously in Endless Waltz. Now I see why Gundam Wing is really a classic.
The problem with trying to criticize the animation though is that it is Cel shading which means every sceen is handrawn and it would be expensive to try to recreate the same scene from scratch henceforth they had to reuse scenes. You'll see that a lot in 70s-90s anime. The story conveyed it's message well and that's what a story is supposed to do. The fights are top notch though that's for sure. Don't forget the entire OST of both the show and movie
I really appreciate how you matched the lyrics with certain scenes. 4:25 The lyrics go "The pain and the tears shed for those you hold dear" and Heero remembers the little girl and the puppy, and Wufei remembers the destruction of his home colony. (Remember that Wufei's recollection scene comes AFTER the Wing Zero's fall in the actual movie. This guy deliberately moved that bit forward to match with the lyrics. Wufei's screaming is perfectly matched with the Japanese word for pain) 4:34 The lyrics go "I want to end this grief that's all over the world!" and Wing Zero falls as if Heero himself is crying it out. (Remember the dialogue between Heero and Wufei during this fight) 4:54 The lyrics go "I won't give up" and Wing Zero gets back up. 4:56 The lyrics go "Spreading my wounded wings" and Wing Zero does exactly that. Please like this comment. This video deserves more appreciation from international fans who don't speak Japanese.
Watching this AMV version of Gundam Wing Endless Waltz/ Frozen Tear Drop Last Impression really takes me back one of the very first anime movies I've watched during the early 2000's Toonami days I'm tearing up from nostalgia
I love Gundam Wing: the intensity, the relationships between the pilots and their machines...I'm willing to bet at least one of the filmmakers was a veteran.
