Without a will the inheritance goes to the spouse first. With a will the deceased dictates who gets what. Of course things can be contested ect ect. Money from a joint account can be spent by anyone on that account without having to pay anything back regardless of who put what in it.

Oh silly you, in textland inheritances are handed out basically the day after the person dies, and it goes to whoever texts anybody else first that they get it. That's how all money is handled actually. Texting that you owe me whatever number you pull out of your ass for any reason you can think of, and that makes it so. And divorce can be accomplished in minutes by anybody, even without the knowledge of the married couple!
