I knew a MIL who thought that drinking coffee would affect a baby's sex. When I asked her why she thought that, she said her mom told her and her mom had 7 kids so she should know. I admit it, I laughed my arse off.

As soon as the mil said ‘shut your mouth’ I would walk out. 25 years ago, I wouldn’t stand up for myself but now I don’t have the patience for mean people. The op sounds like she put up with so much. Everyone won’t always get along with in-laws of people don’t change. So cute the spouses reaction to her news. I hope he stands up for her when needed.

Here's an idea. If you get sent more than enough fruit that you will not be able to eat before all the fruit spoils, get a juicer as well as some glass bottles, and juice them. Fresh fruit juice is just as good as eating fresh fruit.

The hubby forgot to throw back at his mom "Don't trust those doctors! They're wrong about the gender!" or something like that. I still can't believe the MIL couldn't see what she did wrong to her DIL even as her own daughter was getting the same treatment. But also kinda surprised she didn't agree & join the daughter's inlaws in doing that awful stuff in order to get a son. But I guess getting a son from her daughter didn't matter since they wouldn't be carrying on the family name & whatnot.

Pregnancy is different for each woman, but yes, it can be so bad you actually throw up plain ol' water. If you have multiple children, each pregnancy can be different as well. Growing a human is crazy 😅😂

Yes, they can. Some even have morning sickness their entire pregnancy. If someone can't even keep down any fluids, they need to talk to their doctor and probably get admitted into the hospital to get hooked up to an IV to get hydrated. Getting dehydrated is very very dangerous for both the mother and child!

You can supposedly keep your diet acid or alkaline to HELP conceive the gender your want by selecting your diet PRIOR to conceiving - but once the baby has started developing the gender is set, and no amount of eating particular things will change its sex. You're more likely to get the baby you want by timing it round ovulation (which is what I did). I wanted a girl, and I got a girl!
