Me too >< I am developing a traditional Japanese style group and band and I wanted to learn to do such dancing so I looked it up just to see. I saw this video first I immediately realized I am never going to be able to do this. I'm sure that I will throw the fan across the room accidentally or it will somehow burst into flames as I open it . - .

+Cai Kiseki Not only his hand, but the entire body! I notice the hem of his kimono is always spread out in a fan shape and circle around his feet at every moment. That's so fantastic! I'm pretty sure it took a ton of effort just to dress that kimono, not mention to the part of making it.

And you don't see a lot of those masks around. They are really hard to find for me ....especially that ONE!! He is soo fox like as well. this would have taken forever to accomplish for someone like me. I honestly want to pet this man and draw him to show how proud I am of him.(this is my version of showing pride please I take no pleasure in sexual ideas so this is all me being happy) P.S. I will not draw him like one of my french gurls

Please note only Kabuki traditional dance is done by males. other traditional dances can be done by either male or female. Most traditional dances that aren't kabuki are mostly done by women. After we mustn't forget the Geisha

When dance is a symbol of sex, as it's in the West, it's performed exclusively by women. When dance is art and culture of a nation, it's performed by men and women alike.

The background music is called bad apple, proposed to be something of falling into darkness, many conspiracies say its a form of beautiful Japanese people dancing and the poor falling into the darkness. As most of the lyrics state ‘ I’ve done all that I can ‘ & ‘ And if I fell, it would all faint to black ‘ that is the end lyric.
@ramanus1487
@ramanus1487 7 лет назад
Some people for some reason dancing to this is very easy but it really isn't. The man is wearing a kimono and kimonos have many layers of fabric, making it super easy to trip over them. especially since a kimono nearly covers every part of your body except your face. It also takes a certain amount of elegance to master this. It could take years to fully understand how to dance in a traditional Japanese style.

I, for one, do not care that this man is dressed as a female. He danced so beautifully, fluidly, and also gracefully. It was like watching a swan slid across the water and I was memorized by all of it. I could not look away for even one second. The main reason why my dinner got cold lol. ^^ But there are no words to describe just how beautiful this is. Kikunosuke Sawamura, keep dancing because what you just did stole my breath away. I may not know a lot about your culture but I've fallen in love with it.

Samurai taking kabuki actors as lovers never seemed to really be eradicated by the lords' ruling, though. I suppose the characters were that alluring, no matter who was playing them. If you're wondering the source for this I did about a year of research on this about ten years ago for Japanese history term paper in Uni.
