Thinking about really strange and innovative games like this really makes the genre divide between AAA and indie we have now feel more apparent. You would never consider a game similar to Baroque getting greenlit as a full priced console release in 2024. It's hard to imagine it even existing then with what was considered popular in that era.
@@justjunk3803 i do think it was a niche release (and this particular version never got an official english release) but it certainly hangs with a particular subset of late 90s games. it’s definitely a product of a very different time, the dev interviews paint a picture of a practice that just doesn’t exist anymore, indie or otherwise

i'm glad you're enjoying the videos! yes, i made my own model & most layout/background assets that show up on here. i use blender for modelling and a combination of photoshop and obs retro filters for post-processing!
