I think it's because the director told them, they need to be more bold with each other, more flirty, to practice. They filmed for such a long time, it just started to become natural for them, they don't even know they are doing it. They have great chemistry together. Their eyes, show emotions that convey onto the screen. I am sure they grew found of each other. It is hard to stop behaving a certain way, even their gestures and habits became in sync. It's beautiful, the drama, the story, they brought it to life.

At times I think they are close friends, at times I think they are lovers, at times I think they were co-actors who were asked by the director to act intimate and flirty to develop natural chemistry to make their characters believable, to create interest and to draw the BL lovers to watch the drama but in doing so they eventually became fond of each other. And then there are times when I think that all of this continious stream of Yizhan content floating around on the internet is one large fan servicing set up, one hell of a well planned marketing strategy to arouse, evoke and maintain, continious and sustained interest in the drama, the characters and more particularly the actors so that their future projects may also enjoy the same level of dedication from the fans 🤣
I'm of the same mind. Lol the logical part of me acknowledges that when you work closely with people you develop a bond. But most times once you no longer see each other anymore that bond fades. That's just human nature Also Chinese fandom and cp/fanservice is so different than what I'm used to as an American so it can be confusing to know what intentions are at times. I just hope their interactions were as genuine as they seemed and they are at least xmas card buddies (term I use for friends that aren't super tight anymore, but keep contact on like holidays and important things like that)
I had the same thoughts. While I love both of them, I doubt they could actually develop an intimate relationship given both are under public's scrutiny. If you can YB's old videos from his Uniq days, this Leo is very flirty and playful with his affections and he's not shy to demonstrate it. But that was when he was less famous and as a kid, he could literally get away with such PDA and given his current status, he has to thread carefully with that playful and flirty side of him for fear of explosive misinterpretations by crazy fans. I think it all started with acting, then as a part of promotion, marketing and all that. But later, unconsciously, it all took a turn towards a deeper emotional bonding. I love them both and hope they keep in touch. I read that on the Bazaar shoot that Yibo and Zhan didn’t get along because Yibo was acting cold. Wong YiBo spent 4 years in Korea. Being the youngest in the group. He fought to get attention,to survive 😂. He did the same thing to XZ. A lot of Chinese family, only one child, they don't need to fight. So people don't understand why WYB and XZ had so much fight. Now you can tell those two have best relationship, strongest bonding. Look at clips, XZ was the only one talk to YiBo in Korean, sang Korean songs( blackpink). YiBo listened to XZ suggestion, started to wear knee pads to prevent knee injury, you can see clip from street dance 3. YiBo stop colored hairs, stop wearing ear rings, behave more like a scholastic, and reserved mature man.
