The number of Porsche fan boys on here is ridiculous. I love the Porsche, I love all of these high powered machinery and loved the entertainment from the race. I couldn't care who won, you could repeat the race 10 times and I'd bet it the results would be different everytime. Jusr chill out and enjoy.
The new NSX is the most technologically advanced car here. The hybrid drive train really helped it get instant torque around the corners in a tight race track. If this were a bigger racetrack the cars with higher HP would over take the NSX.
Gt3 wouldn't necessarily faster on this track that has a bunch of low-speed corners, the downforce, and suspension tuning of GT3 doesn't do too much here. in contrast, the Turbo S torque curve will be a bigger advantage
@kolkat c Porsches have been dominating GTRs on the track and straights for a while now. If you get your info from Best Motoring, sorry to say the information you are getting is biased. This show does its best to prop up their own Japanese cars, especially GTRs for the longest of times.
The Jaguar SVR really looks like a baby Nissan GT-R R35 from the front. And the second generation Acura NSX looks like the true successor to the first generation Audi R8. Seeing all these super cars as automatics and not manuals is disappointing as a driving perspective, but in these races where speed and lap time is all that matters it makes sense. I kind hope that they would bring the Lexus, BMW M5, Mercedes Benx Gtr, Dodge Viper, and Chevy Corvete too in the future.
So the cheapest (GT-R) is still the fastest. I have no idea how did Nissan made that masterpiece. Still kills the best of the best. Respect for Nissan.
would love to see what these guys can do with a Viper ACR. I wonder why the american cars dont get any love. The camaro 1LE and Mustang GT350R are great cars on the track. The c7 Corvette GS and Viper ACR are even better track cars.
Akihiko still got it! He was arguably one of, if not the best driver when he was on best motoring and made the slowest car come second in this race. Awesome.
So the GTR posted the fastest lap time. Nothing suprising about that. I was expecting a faster laptime from the audi. The Jaguar was about what I expected, the slowest car on the track.
NSX is the slowest car, it's running Pirelli Trofeo-R where Porsche, Jag and R8 are running normal Pzeros (not even Corsa ones). 911 Turbo would probabily be the quickest if they ran the same tires
Surely it is much probable this race is fake, but they might know NSX is the fastest in that cars before the race so they put the back monitor on NSX i suppose.
Porsche has safe system on the gearbox by putting limit on how many launch control you can use simultaneously. He was practicing launch control too many times and exceeded the limit on launch control, by the time for the actual race, the car disabled the launch control. Believe me Kazuo Shimizu is probably one of the most German biased journalist in Japan, go check his channel StartyourengineX he just tries everything he can for the German cars to win
You sure the LC was overheated? There’s a test that 911 was launched simultaneously for more than 50 times. And no limp mode triggered at all in that test.
For those who cannot read the final score in the table because of the Japanese language... 1st Porsche 911 2nd Audi R8 3rd Nissan GTR 4th Honda NSX 5th Jaguar SVR
