The movie tells the story of Chu Liuxiang, a newcomer to the martial arts world who aspires to become the "Thief Chief". He unintentionally befriends Mu Qianyu, the newly appointed leader of the Shenshui Palace, who disguises herself as a man. The two of them feel an instant connection. Meanwhile, a ronin from the East named Tian Feng Shisi Lang covets the Shenshui Palace's "Heavenly Water," intending to use it as a powerful weapon to invade the Central Plains. In the process of multiple confrontations, Chu Liuxiang and Mu Qianyu become entangled in Tian Feng Shisi Lang's conspiracy and become targets hunted by the entire martial arts world. The palace's rule forbidding romantic involvement with men also creates an insurmountable obstacle for their relationship.
