***** yeah, why not? In WW2, the German cruiser Prinz Eugen and the "pocket battleship" Lützow bombarded an area in the Gulf of Rige, where an entire Soviet tank brigade consisting of T34 tanks was parked being rearmed and refuiled. The cruiser's spotting plane observed the fall of shot, and vitnessed the destruction of the targeted area. The entire area was obliterated, with ammunition trucks and fueling trucks blowing up, dozen T34 tanks were destroyed in the process by Prinz Eugen's 203 mm guns and Lützow's 280 mm guns. The cruiser fire 265 shells at the target area destroying several T34 tanks. It is quoted that Prinz Eugen's bombardment was instrumental in the successful repulse of that Soviet attack.
