すごく分かりやすい説明で聞いていて楽しかったです。 最初はとにかくベースがよく聞こえるアーティストさんの曲をたくさん聴いて、ベースの音色や主旋律との和音を理解するといいと思いました。 コード進行も有名なところ(王道、カノン、小室進行など)を少し知っておくと、この曲は〜進行だなって分かるので楽しくなると思います。 僕は(おそらくミナさんもですが)ベースパートがない曲にもオリジナルのベースを頭の中で付け加えることが出来る領域まで達しましたが、音楽理論などは勉強したことがなく、感性に従って自然に出来ることが不思議です。 オカルトチックですが、もしかしたら前世(というか過去世)にそういう勉強をしていて、それを思い出したのかも知れません。 ここまで長文失礼しました。これからもベースを楽しんでください！

Some people have a natural talent for hearing a song and are able to play it immediately, but you are correct that it takes time and practice and listening to develop this skill. I sometimes use Audacity to slow down the tempo of a song without changing pitch, that can really help when picking out faster bass lines. It'll also add audible artifacts so you can't reduce it too much. -15% is generally good too start with.

It would be great to see a close-up of your right hand when you are playing fast, maybe even in slow motion?

I'm definitely trying that approach! Thanks! What I do sometimes is that i switch the eq to disco or jazz when finding the notes so the bass is a bit more upfront (I used the bass to find the chords for guitar) then try to copy 4-6 note progression at a time if i can, even jumping over some then come back to them at some point. before i knew it, im kinda playing the whole song.

いくらベースの音がハッキリ聞こえたとしても、基本的なメジャースケールや、ペンタトニック、３度、５度、６度などの和声を習得していない状況だと、耳コピーは難しくないですかね？

何となくたどり着きましたw 自分は25年間バンドでベース弾き、不器用過ぎて最近諦めたオッサンです！部屋の隅にオブジェとなり、見るたびに若い頃を思いだし…って長くなるので以下略です(*´∀`)♪

Great video Mina. When you practice do you prefer to play the bass plugged into an amp or unplugged? I find that there is a beauty to the sound of electric instruments unplugged especially if they are built of decent quality resonant wood.

I'd like to add some points on her style on how she plays by ear. One of the things that really helped me is that my parents are musicians. So you can say "it runs in the blood" but i had a hard time as well. I have been playing by ear since i was a kid starting out on Piano learning the Vocal notes first, followed by the Guitar then Bass then Drums. Since my parents were both musicians they only had a Piano as they were both Pianists. Having family members that have other instruments is a help as well as my cousins have a guitar and bass. But in our family we don't have a drumset to which i pursued and "kinda disappointed" my parents. Fast forward to highschool, there was an after school classes for different types of musical instruments. that is when i pursued my drum career. At first i had to buy tape or CD's to listen to the songs i wanted to play. and i thought i have to listen to the song over and over again in order to get the drum pattern. After a few tries i felt that there were some things that are missing, so i tried to search for live performances on tape or CD. But i still wanted to know more on how they are actually played so RU-vid was a help at one point but at that time, i have gotten used to listen how a bass drum sound or the hi-hat, etc. So play by ear has been a breeze to me as long as i repeat the song over and over again. My style might be the same for any instrument, but as long as you get used to how the instrument sounds then you are good to go on playing by ear. Cheers from the Philippines! :D
