Movie is a total farce, I say it is a remake of the Great Plague of England. Instead of showing the battle, this movie deal in zombie effects. It won't be wrong to say it is a zombie movie. It has no mention of how the Ming dynasty ended, instead it shows an epidemic wrecking havoc. Otherwise, movie is not that bad to watch.

The film has already told the story of the Ming peasant uprising and the Ming army killing each other, coupled with the plague, and the emperor's eagerness to quell the rebellion gave the general the wrong order to attack.
