What amazed me is the background of this show is Tang Dynasty at its peak. Although it has faded over 1300 years, Tang Dynasty is still the peak of Chinese history, and it is also one of the most brilliant dynasties among human civilizations. Tang’s so culturally diversified, open-minded and militarily powerful. If you lived in Tang at its peak, you would see people and goods from all over the world in Chang'an. Many greatest generals of Tang were even not Chinese, but from foreign countries who were willing to serve for Tang's royal families. In this show, you would find many names which are just mentioned several times, but every one of these names was a legend in the history. Tang is a magic era in Chinese and human history.

Wow, the opening sequence is a long shot of more than 2 minutes, without any interruption and cut! Anyone realizes how difficult it is to synchronize such a big scene involving hundreds of actors? Really impressive!!

This show is amazing. It is one of the best things I have seen this year. The sets, the intensity, the cinematography, the characters, everything just draws you in.

仔细看服装、化妆、道具、场景等都很考据。我特别喜欢开篇的长镜头，短短几十秒就把长安城的繁华展现得淋漓尽致，一下子就铺开了世界观。

You know this is gonna be a great drama when you see the pipa player in the opening scene holding her instrument historically correctly.

虽没有钢筋水泥，没有苹果奔驰，没有飞机高铁，没有霓虹灯，虽然已是临近没落，但是满眼尽是繁华，心里不由涌起一丝感叹。

我冲着画面镜头来看得，没让我失望，第一个镜头就美得不行，背景乐也很是惊艳，古装也丝毫不见廉价感，果然是好剧。

I will dare to say this was a mark of taking C drama to whole new level. Wow! From the first second of it I thought of it watching the high production movie!

我这个根本不看古装剧的人，特别喜欢看这个！ 它的世界观没有局限在宫廷斗争和小格局的儿女私情，而是放眼全国乃至更广的范围，隐隐地描绘了长安城里的异域文化，极其复杂的市容市貌，可见和不可见的民族生态等等。让观众感受到古代的中国并非与世隔绝，也不是简单的朝代轮回，而是在与周遭文明的交流中形成的动态图景，展现了古时候也有别样的“全球化”。中国的古代史越到后期越封闭，让人感到窒息。而这部剧的开阔视野如清新的空气让人神清气爽，史诗般的叙事和氛围渲染又让人热血沸腾，简直让我欲罢不能！

This is an amazing, amazing drama!!! Every minute of it, every scene makes your heart pound!!! All the battle scenes are sooo jaw-dropping realistic that make you gasp and leave you breathless!!! It is a MASTERPIECE of all dramas!! It captured my heart from the first minute to the last one! I think there should be a sequence.

I swear, this is so good on multiple levels. The costumes, the set designs, the fight choreography (I saw a Twitter clip of this show that was basically a Tang Dynasty version no-knock raid and it blew my pants off)…everything about this show is magical. Big props to the production team!

Korea historical drama and fantasy drama can never beat Chinese’s historical drama and fantasy drama, their extra ness is on another level but I have to admit that Korea new historical drama called “the kingdom” is dammmm good- so realistic and it a masterpiece... others r not so good.

This is the story to finish in a day because all the events happen in a day! This series and Minglan are the most viewed dramas in China! Princess Agents is another great drama!

This series is an example of why Cdrama will inevitably overtake Kdrama in the not too distant future. The money and source material (Chinese history, legends, novels) is unsurpassed. There's something still missing in the execution of modern dramas including romantic melodrama but I have a feeling this will also right itself with time.

每个人都有其个性和命运，演员演得都很好。千玺略显稚嫩，但没有拖后腿，而且越看越觉得李必就是这个样子的。他的台词部分半文言的部分较多，所以乍听不太好懂，但是看第二遍时不看字幕完全无障碍。哨音的问题当时确实存在，大学台词课老师第一节课摸底就发现了，不过经过专业训练，他进步很大，据报道这学期一节课上，他一开口同班的李兰迪都震惊了（南都人物周刊报道）。通过他近两年出演的几部作品，能看出他是认真在走演员这条路的，希望大家对这个年轻人宽容一些，他在17岁不到的年纪能有如此表现，真的很不错了

已经看到了20集，每集都无法快进，稍一走神就错过一些信息，第一集要看2遍，之后就没啥问题了，这剧越看越养眼，科普下唐长安相关知识，再回头看更有味道
