Its it not a complete switch its more likely for Women to watch guys and for guys to watch Women. But it also depends on the content being delivered too. Not many guys watch makeup channels and I think in general more girls watch vlogs but that is more even then stuff like gaming.

Most of the big gaming RU-vidrs have a similar ratio (often it's up to 10%), due to Male is the default choice on account creation (so many may not even change it), girls rather watch stuff about makeup, vlogs, and stuff that girl RU-vidrs put out. Also topics about career, money, education is around 60% female last time I checked. (8 months ago). Not to mention the MASSIVE bias that google / RU-vid has with their recommendation.

To be fair, the survey has probably not reached even a fraction of her fans, so if she just looked at her RU-vid statistics it may turn out different. In that case I'd not be any help though, because I generally dont select a gender in my accounts... And probably many others as well. Google knows enough about us as is.

Hmm, speaking as a straight female, the vtubers I watch are female, sometimes male vtubers like Kanae if they pop up in my recommendations. I don't have a preference to more boyish vtubers, but I don't mind, like Okayu's voice is amazing. Simping for female vtubers is already part of my lifestyle (I'd turn lesbian for them anyday 草). Of course, my opinion will probably be the minority considering Pekora's demographics.

If a girl can get into video games to anime to streamers that are all most if not all for male fans and get to the point of vtubers that's more rate that someone can get there as a girl than a guy. Also for me I think it's just you are either born to like anime or not. I saw a mother show her kid anime and he loved it as a baby while my niece likes the colors of good anime I show her and nephew loves the animation
