The pugilist world is ruled by the powerful Wen clan, which dominates over the smaller Lan, Jiang, Nie and Jin households. The carefree Wei Wuxian becomes fast friends with the righteous Lan Wangji, and during their adventures, the pair find out that the head of the Wen clan is the evil mastermind behind a series of plots that would wreak havoc upon the lands.
Wei Wuxian’s attempts to protect the innocent members of the Wen clan from unfair persecution leads to disaster, and he goes MIA in the process. Wei Wuxian reappears sixteen years later, and works together with good friend Lan Wangji to solve a series of murder mysteries, eventually finding and defeating the true culprit. Based on the Moxiang Tongxiu's novel Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation.

There's two interpretations for the chicken scene. One, there was a tradition in China where, when a man and a woman wanted to get married, they gift a rooster and a hen. So it's like a marriage proposal. Wei Ying and Lan Zhan are both guys, so instead, he gave him two roosters. Basically, he's trying to propose. Two, when Wei Ying was still in Cloud Recesses, he and Jiang Cheng and a bunch of others went out to steal chickens for some meat because they got tired of the vegetarian bland meals. Wei Ying invited Lan Zhan, but he refused to go. Now, he wants to do all these things with Wei Ying, including going out to steal chickens apparently.

Missing WangXian hours opened!! Few things to point out: 1. They are drinking on the same glass (I don't know the type of glass but yeah it's indirect ehem if-you-know-what-I-mean) 2. They held hands! 3. LAN ZHAN IS SO CUTE OH MY GHAD! 4. Even tho, there's scenes from novel omitted here, I'm still satisfied because; 5. These two, Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo gives justice to their characters. 6. WangXian is two idiots in love. No need to say the word 'I love you' or something like that. Their actions speak louder than words. Love can be express in different forms and sizes. And Lan Zhan's way of love is to never leave Wei Ying's side. Never again.

And at the end "you like...", Lan Zhan thought may be the truth will be revealed, that's to Wei Ying,he only said "rabbits"

"Won't Forget (不忘)" (Lan Wangji's theme song), which to me is even better theme song 'Unrestrained' has this one line 'Are you still asking' is perfectly themed with this scene. @Χρυσή Πετρίδου there's an interview with one of the producer of the drama, she said at first they wasn't convinced about yibo portfolio sorting (in paper, not face to face yet), she said they turn him down twice for the role by the paper, but when yibo insisted to came in person for a face to face interview session they know exactly that they almost made mistake by slipped him away twice during paper sorting

Xiao Chan and Wang Yibo, great acting - the roles of Wei Ying and Lan Chan in the drama is about brotherly bond, loyalty, soul mates fight against evil, protect the weak and poor. Makes you feel hopeful, brightens up your day, nice feeling to watch such drama. Both are great pals, supporting each other, sharing same likes. I love watching their sincerity towards each other.

Even though this scene is quite different in the novel I like this one too. LWJ steals jujube fruits along with the chickens. They take chicken and fruits with them. It was Lan Zhan who asks Wei Ying to write too. And LWJ also draws two people kissing and other things which WWX told him about in Lotus Pier. There is a lot that happens after drunk Lan Zhan stealing. The two end up in two different rooms. Both of them can't sleep. WWX runs out to erase what the two had written.
