@@selpharessecret3899 Same. I got the chills the first time I saw his true form. Going back and watching the scenes from his memories makes the perspective make sense because all the people in his memories are looking down at him and it made me cry knowing they groomed and possibly even created a child to be a sacrificial lamb.
@@LegendaryDorkKnight It's sad that people seem to gloss over the part of his stature. One ... either Ascians had smaller races too (and perhaps that's where lalafells sundered lifeforce come from) ... or he was a child. I find the latter more likely. Which leads to Two ... He was meant to be the heart of the savior. He also was the WoL for his people when he was the last unsundered. All the hopes and dreams of his people and world rested on him ... just like us when we played all those Final Fantasy's as the WoL when we were children. The symbolism of what Elidibus represented to me was a that of a mirror. Where are our memories tho...? The whole underlying framework of FFXIV's story narrative is "Memories". It is a part of nearly every relevant story/subplot. Remember what Emet last said to you. And how you set Elidibus free. Yet .... where are our memories? Very cloudy our memories are, while Zenos has had visions of Amaurot since he was a child ...
What I loved about this expansion is that they humanized the villians. Reminds me of FFXV villian and how he was made the villian from something out of his control.
this is why 13-2 and lightning returns to a degree are some of my favourite games in the series. because Caius, okay sure he's gone off the deep end and it out to literally destroy time but by the end of the game even if you don't agree you can really understand "why" he did it
I liked HW and Gaius for the same reason. Nidhogg's got a pretty reasonable thing to go off about and Gaius just didn't want primals to exist to keep wrecking shit.
@@Reavyr Gaius also is far more intelligent than he was let on to be. Gaius knows what's going on in terms of primals, the death of the star Hydaelyn and the fact that the empire is manufacturing cataclysmic weapons of mass destruction, namely the Black Rose. Once he figured that out, he started his crusade against the Ascians who manipulated and turned Garlemald into what it is. Gaius knows the history of the planet and the Primals, although forces to be reckoned with isn't so much the issue as is the amount of aether they take to summon. The Wasteland was proof of what happens when you bleed a land of it's aether and Garlemald was terrified of that happening.
@@corvosweet-moon8629 True but still restoring life to what it once was would really make things better, besides, the people from Amaurot were pretty calm and wise, there was no need for weapons since they were peaceful
The dungeon theme is called Mortal Instants! I love it so much, but I feel like the piano version is so much more meaningful somehow? Like this faceless Amaurotine is every version of us that existed when the star was whole. Emet is watching from somewhere. :D
while yes i love the dungeon itself but i dont like the monster in it, as main tank who always do pull boss to boss this dungeon is the worst to do that compared to other dungeons
Oh my god, it's a duet between Emet and the WOL's past self! I literally broke down in tears when they disappeared and then Emet and Amaurot along with them.
@@gateauxq4604 I left this comment before Azem's name had even been mentioned in MSQ. We didn't officially know the WoL was the Fourteenth, just that Emet recognised their past self. But yes, we are Azem. 😂
I cried at the end of this Expansion. Today, I cried again listening to this masterpiece. "Remember us. Remember that we once lived". This is so powerful. Thank you so much.
Emet-Selch easily a top FF villain. It's funny how in ARR people were like "this is good FOR AN MMO" and nowadays it's like "this game literally carries the brand."
This song will always bring a tear to my eye. It's so full of sadness and hope and desperation bleeding from beneath the surface. I loved the end of this xpac so much. It's so hard to make a sympathetic villain, but they managed it.
it's so odd being back here post 5.3, knowing what we know now. Thank you, Emet. I'll remember for as long as I live, even though the rains have passed and given us a beautiful new day. Even though you aren't here to see it.
I like to imagine something like this took place in some anonymous location in Amaurot. One soul, playing on the piano one last time before the end. One last chance to embrace his love for music before their world faded into oblivion.
I couldn't help but to cry - especially at the end of this piece. The fading Amaurotine was the most brilliant touch. Emet will be forever loved as the best Villain ever written in my eyes. No novel or movie has topped him for me - even among the greats. Emet-Selch made you feel for him like you've never felt for a villain before. Who could imagine EONS.. of despair and longing for that which you've lost? Mortals can barely fathom the loss of just one, let alone an entire world and all those in it.
This is so powerful.I felt joy, I felt melancholy, like it's saying "Yes, I'm alive!" and then it starts to be more quiet... Sad. "I'm gone, but I lived". Wish I could explain it with better words but still, thank you for this masterpiece ❤️
This was released on my birthday. A friend of mine posted it on Discord, and I'm glad I listened to it. Amaurot was such a great dungeon and Soken is such a great composer - and I dare say your take on it on piano would make Soken smile. Great work.
The dungeon, music, atmosphere, events happening in the game, the narration. All of it culminates to being the most emotional dungeon in any game I'd ever played. This music is just as good. Also I'm noticing at the end, I'm hearing the melody of the Final Fantasy Crystal theme. You should be very proud of your skill and I'm very honored to have found this beautiful piece.
I love that part that starts around 1:17 the short notes and then a louder one that hits at 1:20-21 that sound so beautiful. This was already a lovely piece and you just made it even more so. Thank you
I keep coming back to this, and goosebumps even months after I've finished the expansion and hardly log-in. The way you played it is just so beautiful. As well as the memories the game has left us with--- absolutely timeless. Thanks again for sharing this, I do hope you're still doing well and playing beautiful music, Mameko!
If I'd had to put into words or melody how much I love Amaurot and this lore / expansion / story then... it'd be exactly this! What an incredible piece of music, thank you so much for sharing!
I got Shivers down my spine listening to this, thank you so much for this, you are very talented and I really appreciate the Ascian cosplay as well, going to share this to all my friends and FC :)
Tomorrow and tomorrow I cannot see what will be So, for ever and forever I will just wait, and see This forgotten land Sleeps on the ocean floor Made with only dry sand And nothing, nothing more To never be remembered A testament to no one Such a deaf testimony Blind to all, mute tone A beautiful land of dreams A sincere shard of emotion Shine bright, loud empire Without stirring a commotion. Listen, Hear, Feel, Remember us.
I just wanna say that Amaurot is just such a strong piece of music from an amazing dungeon & your cover is just so amazing that it's actually my go to piece of music to listen to after I've had a PTSD attack to just lay down & chill to. So thank you! ^^
Wow so beautiful! Is the song really called that? If so holy shit. That line really tucked at my heartstrings. He was the greatest villain of all, I love you ;///;
Please make an extended version of this song. It’s such a well done arrangement. I’ve been listening to it for hours now...Thank you for such a wonderful piece.
