雪が吹きすさぶ夜の函館駅。その8番ホームでは唯一機回し線が接続することもあり、本州と北海道を結ぶ（もはや希少となった）夜行列車が発着する光景を見ることができます。今回は「カシオペア」と「北斗星」上野行の発着シーン、および青函トンネル通過に伴う機関車付け替えシーンを撮影しました。 Hakodate Station, located at southern Hokkaido island, is a origin station of JR Hakodate Main Line. Sleeper limited express trains connecting Honshu main island and Hokkaido island use platform No.8. I took movies of arrival, coupling of locomotive, and departure scenes of 2 major sleeper express train CASSIOPEIA and HOKUTOSEI at Hakodate station at night.

一度北斗星に乗ったことがありますが、発車して数時間経ってもまだ北海道を走って居たのにはビックリでした。 それと函館でバックするとは気が付きませんでした、ディーゼル機関車から電気機関車に変えていたんですね。 ただ青函トンネルがうるさくて眠れなかった記憶があります。

Ｄ系だと重連、Ｅ系だと単独牽引。　やはり相当馬力が違うんだな。 しかし、両方とも廃止になってしまったのは、ほんとうに勿体無い。 新幹線なんて、函館には来なくて、北斗着。　　なんでいちいち不便にするかね。
