The film tells the story of the Northern Song Dynasty, where the court was in darkness and corrupt officials, led by Gao Qiu, abused their power. Lin Chong, one of the leaders of the 800,000 imperial army, was one of the victims. Lin Chong was framed by Gao Qiu's son, Gao Yanei, and was sent to Cangzhou. This happened to be witnessed by Lu Zhishen. Lu Zhishen was full of hatred towards evil and had a strong sense of loyalty, and he swore to protect Lin Chong and his family. Unexpectedly, Gao Yanei was even more wicked and designed to trap Lin Chong in the Wild Boar Forest. Lu Zhishen was in a dilemma, as he wanted to protect both Lin Chong's sister-in-law and himself. At a critical moment, Lu Zhishen decided to save Lin Chong first and then rescue his sister-in-law.
