It's kind of impossible to avoid when your main thing is doing covers of vocaloid music. Plus I don't know why they would even want to avoid singing dark songs anyway???
@@Xanonix5643 Probably because of music selection. And the fact that, minus N25, all of the groups have very little dark songs. And it's sometimes unexpected on who sings what. Like... You can imagine MMJ singing Solar System Disco, which makes some sense, yet you simply cannot imagine L/N singing something like, oh idk, freaking Fireworks or Hello How Are You, y'know? 🤣🤣
This cover is soooo good but man it has some really sad implications- Meiko getting the majority of the line distribution, including the final line which can be interpreted as about suicide, paints a really dark picture. Honestly that in tandem with the shot from the music video where all the girls are smiling but she seems more sad and distant implies to me that she helped the rest of MMJ overcome their issues, but couldn't escape her own depression...
i was shocked when i learned they decided to put this in the game at all, much less give it to mmj (though i'm super glad they did). it makes sense in retrospect that meiko gets a lot of the lines. every time i hear 0:52 i die a little inside :(
Honestly I don't see what other group it could've gone to. The style doesn't fit L/N, the lyrics are way too depressing for VBS and WxS [maybe not VBS but it still feels wrong for them to cover it] and weirdly too optimistic or sentimental at points for N25

I don’t hate her but I really feel like they could have gone with a softer / whispery direction. She would’ve been perfect if she sounded just like she does in Kashika
In one part, she gets to say a line, let someone else say the next one, then say the next one but Haruka doesn’t get to do that (the part right before on the 2dmv where they are sometimes on the ceiling, it goes from Minori to Airi not Minori to Haruka bc Haruka got the line before even though meiko was able to get a line let someone else speak then get the next line in the part right before)
Maybe the reason is to cover up the lyrics that aren't meant to be sing by the mmj members, as each lyric that are given is to represent the character of each mmj member (if all of this make sense)
i hate how colopale tunes the loids usually but some of you are just over hating ; its not even that bad and rather good also considering how little attention meiko gets this song perfectly suits her

The fact that this is a dark song is kill me lmao If you confused: - The racing heart part or kyuu (きゅう) could be interpreted as her trying to str4ngle her neck until she does it with a noose - At the end of lyrics or chuuburarin (ちゅうぶらりん) is meaning "My hearts hang in the air", is could meaning "Im h4nged" or "Im indecisive"

Meiko sounds awful yet she somehow has the most lines by far? IMO the others sound amazing but this cover is ruined by Meiko 😭 This is especially awful considering how wonderful the original song is.
