NGL, the music from the classic games when paired with the finishers from the Norse era legitimately improves the vibe. Like, Kratos' finishers in the Norse era are violent but in a "get to the point" violent; while classic Kratos is reckless violence that deals with overpowering to the point of being a borderline sadist (though admittedly, having normal humans perform inhuman feats of cruelty tend to showcase a good deal of ferocity).
I love the finishers in Ragnarok. They are very satisfying. However, I do wish the devs went the extra mile to make sure that every enemy gets a certain finisher depending on the weapon you are weilding. Inluding if you're bare handed. The simple enemies get separate finishers for all weapons except barehanded (since barehanded is technically the Axe stance). But some enemies only have one finisher with one weapon. Like the Berserkers or the Gradungrs. That would make the finishers even better than they are.
Agreed. It would be nice if the Frost Gradungrs had finishers with the Blades and the Fire Ones had finishers with the Axe. Hell, the Asgardian Grandungrs could have finishers with the Spear.
I completely understand the sentiment. I'm working on a fanfiction with _God of War_ at the moment, just in the early stages, and I'm going for a "half-write this like it's an actual video game" vibe, and coming up with Finishers for the characters that are in the story and their weapons. I'm just on the Barehanded kills at the moment, and going mostly by what the first game set down in what enemies are killed in what ways. Let me tell you, it's not easy to make _everything_ unique or distinct. There's only so much you can do with a weapon against the same type of enemy before it becomes "Do the same thing but in a slightly different way". Making it really _interesting_ is something that still eludes me. I can only imagine how much harder this would be in trying to _make a computer/program make this actually happen on screen_ Still, reading this comment, I definitely will make sure that every enemy at the very _least_ gets _something_ from _each_ weapon, and since each characters gets at least three that will give me a lot to work with.
They replaced it with serpent’s snare, instead of a heavy high damaging cleave, holding R2 with the axe now spins Kratos around, catching on the first enemy hit, and tossing them forward. It’s good displacement and has incredible ledging capabilities
At the moment I'm focusing on making videos for GOW series, Bloodborne and the upcoming Final Fantasy XVI, haven't had any plans for other games yet , but I'll keep it in mind for future content.
