Chinses classical culture stresses connotation, sometimes you don't make much sounds frequently, but your feelings and thoughts come along deeply and intensely. Guqin always conforms to this principal of aesthetic preference.
guys, you dont know how hard this is! like wow shes amazing!! i recently bought a guqin and its like very hard, and its also painful for my fingers even though ive played violin and piano for years! This is talent, to do this so beautifully too!!
@@thewhaletakes_you question, if I’m absolutely awful at piano do you think I stand a chance at this? My main difficulty with piano was not being able to play without looking at my hands and I couldn’t get the feeling no matter how many exercises I tried. My thoughts are that with only 7 strings then I won’t need to look at my right hand because I think I can handle that. I’ll still struggle to read music and play with my left hand (as I can’t look at both) but even if I just practice through memory and repetition so I don’t need to read it then I’m fine with that. I’m sure there’s problems though that I just haven’t thought of, can you give me a hand here? It’s just I’ve always wanted to play an instrument but I sucked so badly with piano that it put me off of trying since my parents were having to pay for lessons. I’m 19 and in uni so I really don’t want to buy a guqin and find that it’s even more difficult than piano, so if it is then I’m hoping it’s a different skill set, that (for me) will be easier. For reference, idk if it even matters, but I have very good 1 dimensional precision. I was a machinist and could easily see if a hole was drilled 0.2mm off centre. Just my muscle memory sucks if I’m not looking at what I’m doing.
I have to say that I drink at least full teapot (abt 1,5 litres) almost every evening (now I have green jasmin tea in my cup) but it doesn't effect to my sleep (You have to brew tea a bit longer, then it has relaxing effect) But this music calms me so well :)
If you don't actively share Chinese culture, certain other country will steal it and label it as their own. You have to. And that country laughed at China on the Internet for lacking soft power.
Gu Qin (Ancient "Zither") is thought to have 5000 year history. It indeed has been mentioned in written literatures dated 3000 years back. It is also the oldest instrument that was entirely chinese invention. Its resonant chamber isn't big like instruments in Zither family (people often confuse it with Gu Zeng, which is a zither family instrument). Instead the entire body is one piece of solid wood, which produces unique and quiet tone of guqin.

You should respect the instrument by calling its own name because it has been the core instrument of Chinese civilization for more than 3000 years at least. It is called "Guqin" which means ancient qin. This special instrument is designed to cultivate people's personality. Alongside Chinese calligraphy, they play the most important role in Chinese culture to curb violence by cultivating personality. They are called sound and shape to people's own heart (spirit).
Me pasó al revés, busqué guqin para saber más sobre la música tradicional china y gracias a tu comentario he descubierto una obra muy interesante. Gracias.
Your music continues to play on long after you have finished playing. I know of no other music that does this. Great respect and admiration from New Zealand.
I’d like to tell the story of this song, I used the translator, hoop you can understand. The background of this song took place in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period more than 2,200 years ago. There were seven powerful states during the Warring States Period, but the relatively weak Qin State finally unified China for the first time in history under the leadership of Qin Shihuang the prince of Qin State. It is a history that is super familiar to the Chinese people. One is that Qin Shihuang's feats and achievements as the first emperor are too dazzling to be ignored by later generations, and the other is that this history has an indelible effect on the continuation of Chinese culture for later generations. But the saddest thing is that this familiar story is unfolded from the unfamiliar perspective of a prince of Han. In his eyes we can see a lot of different story behind Qinshihuang conquers China. The prince of Han saw the talents of the prince of Qin (Qin Shihuang) who was in danger at the time, and assisted Qin Shihuang with the secret help of the team he formed. Unified the hole China. But he did not see the peace and prosperity he had in his mind and died in prison. We don't know whether he died at the hands of his loyal king or under the scheme of his treacherous ministers who were jealous of him. In short, in this story, we watched him show unparalleled tactics, watched his secret organization under his leadership, protected Qin Shihuang, the king he identified, watched him gradually realize his dream, and watched him approaching death step by step. Unreasonable death already known as the ending of his and his team's sacrifice but immersed in his charm, is the most cruel thing for the audience. The original lyrics of this song were to introduce Han Fei and his team quicksand through the rendering of landscapes and scenery. They gathered and were blown away like sand in the chaotic times. But perseverance is undecided to change the world, even if no one remembers them, even if theirs grave turned to dust
Wow. Usually I listen to gunzheng covers but this instrument is amazing. That deep bass sound I can feel it in my bones every time she hits it. I'll be looking for more on the guqin.
This is the theme song of an anime called 天行九歌,with very grand and beautiful scene based on traditional Chinese culture, to describe a legend thousands years ago. Strongly recommend it to you all!
