Thank you Draping Master Kondo. I recently discovered your draping video's and love them all! I'm a huge Christian Dior fan especially the tight fitted jackets and dresses with kimono sleeves, it has such a soft shoulder shape, extremely elegant. Thank you for explaining this quite difficult construction. Can't wait for your next video!
When Galiano was a Dior designer, he created many designs with this type of sleeve. That delicate sleeve would have been his favorite. I also really like the design.
Dior's bar jacket is my favorite theme. There are two types of bar jackets, the 1947 version and the 1955 version. The bar jacket you often see in the famous photos is a jacket redesigned in 1955. I don't draping the bar jacket directly in the video because of copyright issues. But I would like to show you some videos of the jackets with the atmosphere of the 40's in the future.
The position of darts is an important point that determines the overall impression of the clothes. The darts position in front is easy to understand and simple. It also has to do with the length of the jacket. If the number of darts is small, wrinkles are likely to occur and ironing becomes difficult. The more darts you have, the more beautiful your silhouette will be, but the more complicated it will be to sew. Draping requires you to think about design, pattern making, and sewing techniques all at the same time. Determining the position, quantity and number of darts is difficult without a proper understanding of the design.
