I lived in Japan in the military (Iwakuni) and my best memories were hiking in the mountains and finding rivers like this. I never fished but I'd swim or skip rocks and listen to birds. I was a different person there.

I love that this is such a universal thing. The peacefulness and the kick. The feeling being out on the water in the early morning.

What really stands out is the incredible human being that you are! I mean I hunt and fish as well. And understand the situation. When you caught all those fish and squid and let them go because you couldn't eat them it really showed the inner you. Taking only what you need, and giving thanks for every meal. Much respect goes out to you for the type of person that you are when dealing with nature and surviving as well. May happiness follow you wherever you go my friend! I had to subscribe of course

The culture overall is so different than Western practice of fishing, this is so relaxing to watch, love it!

I am retired military and I live in Japan for 12 years in Sasebo and Yokusaka I miss fishing on the river there for trout and cooking it fresh right on the bank as you camped out, great video I really enjoyed it.

When my family was station in misawa my dad and neighbor who was Japanese took me fishing all the time, I miss Japan, wish the lockdown would end so I can finally go back.

I am interested in Japanese culture and nature for years since I started watching the Naruto and then hundreds of anime serials and films and I also started to learn karate-do and judo many years ago. How beautiful is the water colour ? For a year I push biked around Japan and it was an amazing place. The unspoilt mountains and rivers, the honest and gentle people, the bizarre food from Western perspective, but it was a country I wished I could have been born in. It’s culturally better than Australia.
