I may be wrong but Saihara and Ouma both are the same in regards of "hiding from the truth". With Ouma finding it easier to lie to everyone _and_ himself, and with Saihara making himself as small and possible, so he can hide and live with ignorance, away from the truth. Either way, they're both so scared of the truth. Idk it just makes me sad. The only contrast between them is that Saihara had a guide, a light, that is Akamatsu, who made him no longer cower in fear of the truth. While Ouma had no one.

The lyrics fit Saihara so well I’m crying

This is really good. It really set the tone for Saihara's character. Like if you compare this song to Ouma's. Ouma's is fast and the notes are all over the place (random thing but I'm planning on doing a cover of that song once I figure out how to actually sing it cuz it's hard) where as Saihara's is more monotone and has some stuttering and stays at around the same speed the whole time. It really shows that the little details really help 😄

"You know what you have to do." That was actually Kaede saying it and it was in Miku's voice. Mmm I can see where that's going

“Tying round my neck” I may be looking too into it but might that be a reference to the execution in the first trial? Amazing song, this one and Kokichi’s are not only nice to listen to, but also staying true to their character!

SPOILERS AHEAD Among all the protagonists I think Shuichi is the one who definetely carries the most guilt from all the others. Makoto has that unbreakable hope that lets him keep going and Hajime is kinda harsh and not that fragile. Not that he feels nothing it's just that he has a stronger personality imo. And Kaede is out of the contest because I'm talking about the guilt coming from unmasking the blackened. Apart from that, unlike Makoto and Hajime Shuichi is the Ultimate Detective so during invastigations and class trials he was the one who was held responsible for finding the killer. Also, V3 trials were the most unfair, injust and heart-breaking in the series imo. Plus, the executions were the cruelest. Plus, a few times he had to betray a good friend for the sake of the others. Shuichi really had it hard when it comes to guilty conscience...

This song is sooo beautifully done! and compared to the ouma song it conveys a heavy undertone to Saihara's inner turmoil of the killing game and the unfortunate role he was given of being the protagonist. The words are swag and the song is yolo basically. GOOD JOB ON ANOTHER SONG!

The fact that this portrays Shuichi so well is what amazed me! Shuichi was afraid of the truth so he decided to distance himself from knowing too much, he actually was so incredibly smart that he was afraid of putting others in danger with that knowledge because if he made the wrong mistake he could kill everyone. Kaede being there to guide him was the reason he broke out of his shell and decided to face the truth head-on and save as much Ultimates he could, even if the truth is painful, he just had to break through it and create an answer. If he had befriended Ouma faster maybe Ouma wouldn't have died which is what saddens me cause I know Ouma could've been saved if had someone like Kaede to guide him and to show him lying would just let the truth hurt you more once you find out.

I think one based of Tsumugi would be interesting, it could be about becoming someone else or somthing.

Chapter 1-6 Spoilers(?) WOAH! I know I'm two years late, but I just realized at the end, he says "Let's destroy the truth instead" and he has his hat off, which he doesn't have on during any chapter other than 1. So what I'm thinking is that the last part was him singing during the *last* trial. Why I think this is because he says he's destroying the "truth", which I think is referring to the truth Tsumigi made them believe. So what he was practically saying was "let's destroy the truth (as in the fake truth)". I hope this makes sense! Great song by the way, I enjoyed it (if you could tell by the whole theory I made lmao)

I absolutely love how Shuichi's stutters are implemented as some sort of beat its so cool

This is... strangely addictive. I honestly like this one more than the “I’m a liar” kokichi one but they’re amazing

*SPOILERS* These are absolutely stunning! Everything about these fits their character- the lyrics, the colors, the music, the beat of the song, the voice, and everything else. I can't wait for your next one! What I loved about this one is that at around 3:16 the notes start getting distorted, much like Kaede's execution. And don't even get me started on the "You know what you have to do"- I wanted to throw my headphones across the room because of all the emotions. Some I'd personally like to see are Rantaro's, maybe him having seen the video (thus discovering his talent) and running to the library to see if he can end the killing game, Himiko's (maybe when Tenko got killed and she broke down and had to become stronger), and Kaede's because that would be absolutely beautiful. Thanks for creating these! I'm looking forwards to your next one.

OH MY GODSJHDKGDF I CAME HOME WITH MCDONALDS SAW THIS AND ALMOST BURST OUT INTO TEARS Honestly, brief comment for a small moment, though. I absolutely loved this. Through the visuals and lyrics, you managed to captivate Saihara as an overall character, as well as his gradual development throughout the game. Through the lyrics, Saihara's insecurities and discomfort about specifically exposing the truth is heavily referenced, as well as his doubts and multiple negative thoughts and confusions - I'm so glad that, with such a wonderful, upbeat song, despite the pace you reflected his decisions, hardships and true realisation, despite his timidness. Throughout the entire video, I was eagerly hoping that it'd transition to his sprites without his hat - and when it did, not going to lie, I teared up. This is outstandingly amazing, and really, this has made my day so much better and without a doubt I'll be listening to this countless times. I anticipate your next song, whether you settle on Kaede or Kiibo, I am certain that it'll be astonishing! Thank you so much for making this! Definitely one of my favourite producers! Dr3 spoilers: ...kinda Shuichi is legitimately my favorite character out of all Danganronpa, and it’s not because he’s usually depressed. I started enjoying him as a character because of what Tsumugi intended. She wanted to make a detective that grew from his faults, and that’s why I believe in him. Even though he is probably depressed, and any dr meme will make a joke about it, I feel a little disappointed because I grew to love him because of him understanding that if he is forced to reveal the truth, he’ll do it his own way, with his own rules, with his own ethics. Like Hajime and Makoto. He was depressed and scared of revealing the truth because of something he had done which he thought was right, but ended up having consequences which he did not expect. Even after all the torment and emotional anguish he has felt, he still decides to fight his friends, for the promise he made. He chooses to make things his own, and to reveal the truth and lies. The ending where he coursed through all possibilities and still found one which only happened because he made it. I feel like a lot of people forget about how Shuichi grew to use his abilities to help and in his own, personalized way. The only thing you see about him is that, yeah he deals with depression and hatred, but he also learns from his mistakes and becomes a more powerful person because of it. this whole thing was pretty useless, I won’t lie, but I’m just really happy to see something about him that showed how he chose to see the truth and lies for what they are, and that he isn’t afraid anymore. Because then that would be so touching yet a bit sad) I hope you'd do a song about Angie or Korekiyo at some point, but I am also excited to to see one of Kaede or Kiibo if that's what you're planning on

This is so great! Making a song in and of itself is hard, but making songs of established characters and stories is a difficult thing to do, so I really appreciate your work! Being a detective is already hard enough because u have to look at all the outcomes and the possible endings too, but being the main protagonist makes it even harder because anything u do could result in the death of u and all ur friends so Saihara has a lot of pressure on him

This song has still head up even after five years. It’s depressing but it’s ending is somewhat uplifting knowing how Shuichi’s character is. He’s one of my favorite protagonists if I had to be honest

After 5 years, we need a version of this song that references past the first trial. The song is so good, but it feels too good just for the first trial alone.

I remember listening to this a few months ago without really understanding Shuichi's character and not really liking him, but now that I've gotten to understand him beter by actually playing as him, this song hits a hell of a lot harder.

Heheh I actually checked ur channel a couple days ago wondering when this song would come out and lo and behold I liked the small-kinda-perhaps-maybe parallels to Ouma's song, mostly the lyric "peek-a peek-a boo/ haha I found you/ hiding from the truth/ well it's nothing new" bc of the few lyrics in this song about hiding from the truth, now when I listen to Ouma's song and hear that lyric I'll think he's singing to shuichi (and maybe himself too) I would definitely love to see a Kiibo song, he's my fave and I'm interested in what the lyrics of his song would be!

This was extremely well made! You put real thought into the lyrics, and they fit really well with his character. An interesting idea that I have in mind for a character song would be for Kirumi. Maybe about how she has a burden and how she must serve no matter what. Just a thought. Anyway, you did an amazing job on all three of the Danganronpa songs. (Listened to some of your other songs, and they're awesome!)

I just wanna point out something: Both Shuichi and Kokichi try to hide from the truth, just in different ways. Kokichi finds it easier to lie and keep up a confident persona. (Thats what i personally do) while Shuichi doesnt want to lie so he still tells the truth, but at the same time he kinda hides away from the truth from fear. I feel like almost everyone does this at some point, just some more than others. Its kinda sad but at the same time just plain true and relatable

Destroying the truth of the 1st trial where Kaedes the culprit, and going into a new truth where Kaede was framed by the mastermind, who is the true culprit.

The fact that Mcki always makes all the Danganronpa connect to another song or another character is one way or another is so fun. It's like finding an easter egg almost, and piecing them together is so much fun. Especially when it's so accurate to the canon.

I love this and Kokichi's song! I can't wait for Kaede's song! As the detective, it's his job to expose who the murderer is. Yet, everyone is his friend. It's a job he doesn't want to have but must accept. :>

I love how this song's instrumental sounds like the exact opposite of Ouma's and how you can hear Kaede in it. It also is a perfect fit for our Ultimate Detective, perfectly showing how he has doubts in his own abilities and thinks of them as a burden.
