I'm a more senior grandmother and devoted fan since I saw their new MV of "DOPE" on RU-vid in 2015. I loved it and stood watching it and them completely facinated. It was obvious that they were young, yet they were so polished,, the song was witty,, ironic, humorous, and soulful. The experience reminded me s I much of how wonderful MTV was when it began in the first few years. Unfortunately, I had no idea who the group was, and although YT WAS my go-to channel (like now) I never found them again until I discovered that Actor Kim Taehyung was Singer V, who had won the the most handsome male face in the world sever as l times. I knew him well from watching " Hwarang" every three weeks from January 2020 0 to September 12th, a week+ before DYNAMITE was dropped in America. Tae's part in the series was played so well, yet it was obviously written with him in mind for some of his parts. He was outstanding in the serious portions that had everyone in tears. He played "devastation" very well. Then I happened to see a copy of the OST to the series with Jin singing backup with Tae. They were great together, then I SAW DYNAMITE and life shifted. It was has been amazing to watch the last remnants of teenage years die off but by bit as they have become the sophisticated heirs to a multi-million dollar business that they are now virtually running. I have wondered if their parents who may be a bit older that my daughter, thinks of people still calling them boys, when they are in the smallest percentage of entertainers in the WORLD credited with their income results significantly adding to their country's gross national income. I know as not being one of their parents, it is not real to say that I can understand what any of the families have experienced with the sons who are so important to them being absent for years as they grew and matured. It must have hurt fiercely at times as well as feeling so proud, amazed, and scared for them. They are definitely treasures to be admired, respected, and but not worshipped, which worried them. That sense that some people speak about them as living Idols makes them feel very awkward and creeps them out. Many people aren't interested at all in watching the South Korean interview shows where they are now treated with a combination of awe, gentle humor, and high regard. Nothing like the old days. Some of the people who gave them a hard time, have apologized very humbly and often ask the best questions. We Americans could learn many excellent lessons from people in other countries. Even though I had expected both of my children to be sons - due to no girls being born in three or four generations - none of the brothers had sons. I loved my two daughters, yet felt cheated to never have a son. I believe all of these parents must be filled with amazement and joy at how their sons have brought so much hope into the lives of others!! Especially if they had worried about their livelihoods. 😃 🧡 💙 ❤ 🧡👍
