It's incredible to see you perform this all these years later. Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness were mine and my brother's favorite PS2 games growing up, this was our favorite track in this game and we actually imported the soundtrack too. He passed away almost 2 years ago now from COVID, but I know this upload would have blown him away, it's very beautiful. Such amazing improv. Thank you for making my week with this performance
I just want you to know the compositions you made for Lament of Innocence always stood out for me across the years and even today. It was mine and my father's favorite game while growing up and we both loved the final part where you get to hear Leon's theme before facing Walter. Thank you for your amazing composition, miss Michiru Yamane. Your piano cover is hauntingly beautiful. Hope you have a nice day and thanks again for making a a soundtrack my father and I enjoyed across the years.
Castlevania music just never misses... Always absolutely stellar at it's very best, and even for the ones that don't reach quite as high those songs still manage to tickle the ears bringing light & life even within lands beset by such horrible terrors of the night. Simply fantastic, all of it.
I am not a Castlevania fan, but watching this beautiful woman play her own memorable creations is a heartwarming experience. There is so much heart put on every note, you can really tell she loves what she does, and sharing her art and love with us is such a blessing. Thank you lady, surely you have touched a lot of hearts though your music ♥️ keep playing!
Michiru, I need to ask. Do you know : Crucified by Army of lovers? It has a similar harmony structure to Leon's theme and I've been wondering for years if you got inspired by it or if its just a happy coincidence. Thank you again for your beatiful music.
It's one of my favorite characters from the franchise, and this theme is incredible as well. Your compositions are my inspirations since Castlevania Bloodlines, helping me through my depression and inspiring me to try be a professional composer and sound designer. I also made this channel to share some of my work with this awesome community. Thank you very much, I love your work, and regards from Brazil ♥
The joy i felt when Enomao´s Machine tower sneaked in is something i can´t put into words! Yours is truly a work of beauty Yamane-Sensei! Greetings from Chile
When I played Lament of Innocence, I was blown away by how well this song captures and amplifies the feeling you get when you're about to face the final battles. Leon may not be the best known Castlevania protagonist, but he's got the best theme!
Thank you for composing this legendary game Miss Yamane, Your music is timeless , Lamnet Of Innocence and curse of darkness are some of your finest works period , I hope to hear more from you in a upcoming project , I also really loved your work in Monster Boy and the cursed kingdom , Your work is really amazing , Thank you for all the memories , 😊😊
@MichiruYamane-eu3ph You are so welcome Ms.yamane , I'm glad that you are still dedicated to the art of music , Bless you and may you live a happy long life ,,, 😊👏👏
Hello Ms. Yamane and thank you for sharing. I really enjoy these piano arrangements of your legendary music.I hope you are going to play "Dark Palace of Waterfalls" some day. All the best to you!
Michiru, I firmly believe this piece is one of the best you ever composed and one of my favourite pieces through the whole repertoire. I honestly, without an exaggeration, believe that its a marvelous composition. It could easily stand beside the most well deserved miniature classical pieces (like nocturnes, songs without words and many other) of that kind that the great masters of the past like Chopin, Mendelssohn, Beethoven etc. had composed. I don't know where to start from. To speak about the harmonies? It could easily compete with Beethoven's appassionata third movement. To speak about the orchestration? Sublime in every aspect! The instruments although very different, are combined so masterfully. The piano, the strings, the wind instruments with the counter melody to the piano, the operatic vocals , the electronic base that fits so nicely and the drums that are also very thoroughly written! I believe this piano arrangement is quite different from the original. It is approached in a more improvised manner and the sensation is not so clear to me. The harmonies in the the bridge (after the vocal part) which then leads to the second theme are not the same, although the base figuration is quite faithful to the original. The overall character in this piano arrangement is also different, it is approached in a more subtle and introvert way , a great contrast to the original which I would describe it if I could use Italian terms as Maestoso or Appassionato and makes complete sense because it combines courage, bravery with struggle and pain , traits that fit to Leon's character like a glove to the hand, namely its the best music that could fit to his personality. Here the piano arrangement it gives the impression of a more weak leon, unsure , fearful like he is not believing enough to himself. The middle part draws some ideas from eneomaos machine tower (an another genius composition) and i find it interesting because these two pieces share many components. Michiru, I admire you endlessly and not only as a fan that played castlevania games but also as a musician myself, i believe your talent is formidable , deep sensitivity and musicality, just this arrangement is quite different than I expected. At last, I would like to add that an another arrangement you have composed of this with the title "Leon's belief" which is a bonus track in the game, although different and more calm in character, it has a huge power beneath, it is like so to speak a prequel regarding the mood to the final version, the original that appears in the game. Be well, my great regards.
Thank you so much for such a deep insight, understanding of the music, and commentary all the way down to the composition of the instrument. I am very honored. And I'm happy.
@@MichiruYamane-eu3ph We thank you! It would be nice, if you have any time to write some things about this song in your blog. Like how you feel about it, your inspiration, the concept of the idea, anything about it. I read your blogs frequently! Have a nice day!!

This is my favourite song (another is "wood carving partita") from you. I'm still playing this song with my Hi-Fi. 😎 Thanks for your hard work. You are a real genius~👍👍👍
Beautiful piece of art! The Lament of Innocence Soundtrack is one of the best soundtracks ever! Please Yamane-san, make a video playing Dark Palace of Waterfalls, that music is stupendous! Thank you so much for sharing these treasures in form of music with us!
@@MichiruYamane-eu3ph Michiru-san would like to take advantage of this opportunity to be exchanging words with you to say that, like the others here commenting on this channel, I am a profound admirer of your compositions! I became a Castlevania fan since Symphony of the Night and your songs are part of that! I apologize in advance for taking so long on this comment but I would like to ask a question about one of your works if possible and if it's not too much trouble. In 1993 you composed music for the game Rocket Knight Adventures for the Mega Drive along with other composers at Konami. Would it be possible to say which songs in this game are your own? There are amazing songs in that game and it's also a soundtrack that I really appreciate. Thank you very much and I apologize again for making such a large comment.
Yamane San I am a massive fan of your music for this fantastic music for this fantastic series and I was wondering if Capcom ever gave you the chance would you work on the Music for the Vampire (Darkstalkers) Series?
Eres la mejor del mundo mundial ni siquiera gogeta ssj4 iguala el 1% de tu poder ,fuiste a Sevilla y te encontraste una silla , el cr7 basó su personalidad en ti
My least favourite track from Lament:) sorry It always reminds me of one old stupid russian song. Я смотрю ей вслед, чего-то там нет, глаз не отвожу Though that game have some true epics, such as stone golem theme and joachim fight one
