To whom it may concern
The reason why I decided to make this live is to provide accurate and quick information to countries that cannot allow reporters to enter Japan due to Corona. Therefore, if you wish to use it for news material, please feel free to do so, as long as you identify the source.

Thank you for keep us posted since APUS docked. My container was found tilted and damaged but transloaded I assume the contents are somewhat ok. We’ll see once it arrives. Good luck with everything.

It's good to know that the container was located and not part of the 2,000 containers that sank at sea or were badly damaged. Hopefully the damage will be minimal. If my collection of videos was helpful, even better. I hope it arrives safely in Long Beach on the 30th.

いつも海側からの映像を参考にさせていただきました。貴重な画像なので、リンク貼ったりしております。UW旗は持ってないので、インクジェットで作りました。ところが生憎の雨で滲んでしまいました。乗組員の方に届いたかはわかりませんが、3ヶ月間の気持ちを込めて振りました。

@@Mr73581251 Yes, I thought that ONE APUS could dock in Kaohsiung. I can't wait for the completion of the 7th Container Terminal (CT). I have never been to the port, but I was impressed by the big port from the window when I landed the plane.

I was happy to be able to tell you in real time that we were leaving port. The press was supposed to be there to cover the event, but only a few fans, including myself, saw us off at Corona.

Not many boxes on it now compared to when it docked with all those boxes hanging off it at all angles. What happens to all those boxes that were damaged? What happened to all the contents of those damaged boxes? Did people get their money back?

Only a few steps were stacked from the deck. The 940 tilted containers have been unloaded, inspected and those too damaged for the gantry crane to handle have been reloaded. A significant number of damaged containers were still on the quay after the ship left port. A release has been issued saying that some of the cargo will be sent on another ship. As for financial compensation, I am a civilian and do not have access to that information. It will be decided by the insurance company. But I don't think monetary compensation will solve the problem of containers arriving in the US before Christmas gifts are distributed. There were heartbreaking comments from fans who buried their precious figurines at the bottom of the sea, as if they had lost their families. While I uploaded the videos in chronological order this time, I believe that just reading the comments can serve as a lesson for the recovery from the tribulation.

Is everything repaired now? If not do they do that on route at sea? Will it unload all and then go to drydok for repairs? Is that known? Thx for the updates past 99 days

Thank you for your message. I am fixing the tilted container and repairing the lashing bridge in the process. But I think the distortion of the hull and the condition of the hold are unknown. Originally, we should unload everything and inspect it. It would be sad if the safety of the ship was ignored just for economic reasons. For that reason, I hope this video is useful.

まず、あなたが何度も動画に感謝のコメントを流暢な日本語で書き込んでくれ続けたことに感謝します。 ただ『長大船の造船は日本では避けて貰いたい』というコメントには賛同できません。なぜなら、まだ事故の調査報告がなされていない、現段階で、造船の組み立てや施工、仕上げに原因があるとするのは、納得できません。 (あなたが母国語でない言語で不十分な表現をされたなら、訂正してください。私はコメントに対しできるだけ、その国の言語でレスするように心がけましたが、その過程で不適切な表現があったかもしれません。ご指摘があれば、訂正や削除するつもりです) 原因として、 パラメトリック振動による共振など船体の異常な揺れによるもの、 コンテナを高く積みすぎた(多分、そういう設計と運用だった推測しますが)ため、 悪天候を避けずに、速度を落とさなかったため(遅延と経済損失を恐れるため)、 ラッシングバーやワイヤーがかかっていなかったのでは (運用規定内の固定方法だが、締め付けが足りなかった、もしくは不適切だった) (これについては、年末から4件連続して、同じような海難事故が発生しており、すべてアジアから北米に向かうケースばかりで、それを根拠に出港させた側の作業ミスではないのかといった論調が複数見られました) 以上、ざっと原因を推定する書き込みを列記しました。 でも、造船技術的なミスが原因とする書き込みは、見たことがありません。 長大船の造船が、日本には無理で、他国なら可能だとする根拠を示してください。 日本政府や関係機関からの調査報告は概して1年以上かかります。さらに言えば、事故の原因の掘り下げよりも、責任をとるべき、いわゆる犯人探しの傾向多くみられます。それだけに、憶測で造船ミスを原因とする断定的な書き込みは、いかがなものかと思います。 以下は3ヶ月以上現場で見てきた個人的な感想ですが、復旧作業は丁寧で、なおかつ安全を確保しながら慎重に行われ、そのなかで復旧作業の見直しや創意工夫が毎回見られました。こういった行動規範が見られるなかで、造船ミスが一般化して大型船の造船が不向きだとは到底思えません。 以上、正確な表現を期すため、あえて日本語で書き込みました。

Bad weather would be a big reason. But that should not be the end of the investigation into the cause. The following is a list of causes that should be checked. Special factors such as parametric resonance, inappropriate avoidance of bad weather by the captain (the company had given priority to economic efficiency. Some may argue that the ship is overloaded, but we believe that this is in accordance with the ship's design and operational regulations. Insufficient securing of containers was pointed out by many. This is because several similar container spills occurred after this case, all originating in Asia, and many pointed out human error. But there is still no announcement about these by the Japanese government and related agencies that have the authority to investigate. So, we should not lightly and categorically state the cause. For that reason, you should all think about it, and I hope this video will be useful.
