How I imagine this mashup feels would be like possibly about you is some sort of meeting between the pair in robbers, when their much older and mature, and the dialogue happens in their heads and the events of robbers remind them about their time together. truly a masterpiece!!
About You is the first song they have released since the second album that really feels like… them. Not sure what happened on those last two albums, but this is what a proper evolution of their sound should have sounded like. I don’t want them to be the next “Radiohead”, I want them to be The 1975. First time I heard About You earlier today gave me full body shivers, and felt refreshing, it didn’t make me feel like i was 16 again, it made me feel like i was 22 and had experienced life throughly since i was 16. Foreign Language is a good step in the right direction, here’s to hoping their music for the rest of this decade will reach the same peaks or even surpass where they were 7-8 years ago.
If they had remained like the first two albums, this song wouldn't have hit the same imo. Like the beauty in this band is its imperfections and us living that journey with them.
@@jean_etcetera I agree. I do. Hence the step in the right direction comment. I wouldn’t care much about this song if they hadn’t gone on a tangent. This album feels like reuniting with a friend, or a younger version of yourself looking in the mirror to find an inoffensive, older and matured version of yourself waving back
I have to disagree on this one. About you and Robbers might have been their titular songs but the last two albums were an artistic change. I believe an artist should be able to change their flow and genre in order to reflect their inner self. We may never get a BFIAFL if it werent for the last two. Its a good change imo
I agree to a certain extent. A brief inquiry into online relationships might have been different from the first two albums but it’s such an amazing project. I’m glad they made it. NOACF on the other hand is by far the weakest
About You is the sequel i never knew i needed to Robbers. i agree, the 1975's first album was so emotionally raw and real. i think there are some cool hits on the other albums, but this song feels like they're returning to the rawness, the brutally honest portrayal of love, loss, and heartache. i hope they can release more of these songs in future albums
Lyrics [Verse] I know a place It's somewhere I go when I need to remember your face We get married in our heads Something to do while we try to recall how we met She had a face straight out a magazine (Do you think I have forgotten?) God only knows, but you'll never leave her (Do you think I have forgotten about you?) Her balaclava is starting to chafe And when she gets his gun, he's begging, "Babe, stay, stay, stay" [Chorus] "I'll give you one more time We'll give you one more fight Said one more line Will I know you?" Do you think I have forgotten? Do you think I have forgotten? Do you think I have forgotten About you? Do you think I have forgotten? Do you think I have forgotten? Do you think I have forgotten About you? [Bridge] There was something about you that now I can't remember It's the same damn thing that made my heart surrender And I'll miss you on a train I'll miss you in the morning I never know what to think about I think about you [Outro] You've got a pretty kind of dirty face And when she's leaving your home she's begging you to stay, stay, stay, stay, stay Now everybody's dead And they're driving past my old school And he's got his gun, he's got his suit on She says, "Babe, you look so cool You look so cool, you look so cool You look so cool"
The 1975 thank you. Robbers was my favorite song when I like this one girl, now she is married, the second girl is waiting for me but I can right now at this point of my life. I'm lost this mash up is perfect for the feeling I'm feeling with the second girl. J+L
I was hearing "Heroes" by David Bowie yesterday and about you. I realized that they really sound the same and I thought that someone should mix about you vocals to the heroes instrumental and maybe the opposite way, I want to attempt it mix them and maybe share so people can hear it.
