@Dani i really dont think this is the case, utena fights FOR the image of dios akio put in her head and momoka's ghost has been seen doing things with himari's body rhat she wouldnt do. I agree its kinda fluid on who says what in terms of lines and actions but its nothing like utena
@GyaruGutz I don't know if there's anything that Momoka does that Himari wouldn't. Only things that Momoka does that you wouldn't expect out of Himari. But we know from later episodes that there are sides to Himari that most people, especially Shoma, don't see. I interpret the hat as the confident, selfish part of Himari that she abandoned after her mother was hospitalized, returned to her as Momoka. I think that's what the ending of "World of Ice" was implying. Edit: if anything, I don't think the Momoka that we see in flashbacks has anything in common with the aloof woman in the hat.
SPOILERS Aight so my interpretation of the shots where the platform Himari stands on is being built up, is that they represent the pasts of the characters since the imagery is reminiscent of it. For example, the red band looks similar to Tabuki's hand scar. At one part, the platform resembles a chisel relating to Yuri. Snow began to fall when Himari was taken to the child broiler.
OH I thought the red band was a reference to the stitching of the bear…and that’s why they are in the stomach area of each teddy, that’s where the message is passed to another world at the end..
@@YhelloWish Hi, someone who's seen both RE:cycle movies. While yes, the movies are recompilations/retellings of the original anime (I did notice there were certain scenes cut from the original, I.E Ringo and Yuri's trip to the hot springs but let's not talk about that...), the new scenes it adds are a framing device for the retelling, which with further inspection... RE:cycle may recontextualize Penguindrum as a whole! I got some major Adolescence of Utena from the last few minutes of the 2nd movie! Though I will say you'd most likely have to be a fan of the original and have seen it before going into RE:cycle.
10:35 You know, I watched this show before Puella Magi Madoka Magica, way back when, and ever since I saw THAT SCENE in episode 6 of Madoka, I've always wondered if Ikuhara was deliberately referencing it.
