I can definitely recommend GU, it's an awesome game. One thing though: the gameplay is a lot slower and more methodical than World or Rise and because of that it will probably feel clunky at first, but don't let that discourage you. I would simply recommend approaching old MH games in a different way than World or Rise. :)

You only have one offensive HA for lance, and the both evading hunter arts are just really good, I often play with both as well

Lagi doesn't have enough downtime to efficiently use offensive HA's or to be more specific Corkscrew Jab. It's very match up dependant what HA's you want to use in a speedrun. Also in an optimal scenario you would want to stagger lock Lagi with the charge and charge finisher as soon as you get Enraged Guard for the 30% extra raw, which would leave no time for offensive HA's anyway. And regarding Wilds, I'm sure that if he was to return I would learn his fight anyway, I just don't like how they designed the land only fight in GU. I think a bigger turn off for me would be having another bad mechanic like the clutch claw or another annoying af endgame grind system like in Sunbreak.
