This is gunlance perfection. There was full bursting, there was poke shelling, there was wyrmstaking, charge shelling, and amazing guard reloading- Rise's version of long gunlance is perfect. What an amazing hunt.
@@mekudu-man3804 I mean i don't know exactly why he did in specific here, but generally speaking it would typically be because gunlance does so many attacks that are *only* affected by the "Artillery" skill to boost their damage. The only attacks that gain anything from attack boost or critical skills would be pokes and slams, so if he's not using those, most of his damage is coming from his shelling. This is why it is typical of Long users (who tend to rely mostly on charge shelling with just things that can be combo'd from charge shells) to forego typical offensive skills in favor of defensive ones. Other than playing slapstick style gunlance, bulking up on attack or *especially* critical just doesn't do as much as it does for other weapons.
Almost perfect. If they could scale the damage a bit more that would be great. As a hammer main who recently is into gunlance I see the huge difference in dps. I’m over here smacking monsters for 1400 damage in 3 seconds with impact crater. But I’m loving the gunlance. Super fun. Just wish it had more power
@@Iispj oh of course- I was referring to how he was playing and the amount of different parts of the runner was using, and wyrmstakes that were landing. It was just a lot of stuff that makes rise the most interesting and complete feeling version of the weapon so far... but as ever, it's just a weapon that due to mechanics, doesn't deal a ton of damage, unfortunately. Still, Hella fun.
The precision that this run needs is astounding. I can barely hit 50% of my wyvernstake hits where I want them to be and yet this madlad pinpoints his glowing parts even when he's moving. Damn
That's pretty hard to do! That said though, Rise has given GL so many options, it's like a Swiss Army Knife, it has an answer for everything the monster does, huge damage potential, great defensive capability, etc. I love it
Now THIS is how a Gunlance is to be played. Not a gun for only shells, not a lance for only Pokes, a fantastic fusion. Absolutely stylish display of skill and purpose. Excellent reactions and technique. Bless this glorious hunt.
This was beautiful. Seriously. GL in world was nice and all but, runs were a bit rinse and repeat of the same moves. But in Rise there are more moves that makes the gunlance more methodical. Happy to see WS blend in so well with combos. The guard reload makes it feel closer to the counter playstyle of lance with a fabulous mix of explosions and its fricking wonderful.
Thank you for cycling through each piece of armor like that, I can't read Japanese but I'll be able to tell what the armor is by the defenses. Thank you so much
continuous damage to the right areas of the monster will make your hunts go this smooth. obviously he would have decorations like slugger aiding him in the knocks as well. I should ad he was prolly running this mission for hrs to get the perfect play
@@fishie00 no info on wide-type stake, but I think it still doesn't. Same thing when Bows in P3rd. They can knockdown monsters but doesn't benefit from the skill.
10000% abusing what should gunlancer use, the perfection when hitting using animation reload as evading method im totally loves with these kind gameplay, not only beautiful, but this is artistic one thank you
Awesome! I'm getting close to playing like this... 50% of the time! Any idea what is the English name for the palico skill that gives you the +1 Wirebug and where to find it? Cheers
I'm not sure if this is still the fastest time, but it doesn't matter. This is pretty much perfect gunlance play. My style is just spamming fullbursts, quick reload and blast dash, so it's incredible to not see that. Edit: nvm, you handily beat your own time by spamming fullburst... regardless, I still think this is the cooler run. Maybe sunbreak will buff wyrmstake canon to make this optimal?
new hunter here, how does he catch the monster without getting it to blue health? I was told we need to hit it to blue health then will we be able to catch it.
