Erik Karver Assuming that you’ve hadn’t used the English patch, spoilers are ahead. Horou, an Ibis, came from Sado to Tokyo in the outside world. From there, she somehow came to Gensokyo. Somewhere along the way, she met all the stage 1-4 bosses and they were going around as a group until they found the pile of parts that was General Set. Set promised Horou that she would be able to help her get back to the outside world to find other Ibises (which had pretty much gone extinct by then) and gave Horou the Book of Thoth such that Horou could freeze time across Gensokyo, thereby disabling the Hakurei Barrier. Set kinda wanted that power for herself or something, so she never intended to tell Horou to know how to unfreeze time (and the problems that time freezing would cause). Unfortunately for Set, Sakuya existed and was able to not get frozen. Sakuya unfroze Reimu and Marisa, and the three went out to find the culprit.

The OwO on Horou's hat is meant to be Θώθ, the Greek name for the Egyptian god Thoth, which this game takes some heavy inspiration from. The fact that it looks like Ow0 is a hilarious coincidence

The fact that both of his names are similar to things that have been used in memes is amusing

Yeah it's really hard to get in contact wih HertzDevil, I haven't been able to contact him either.

I recommend play touhou 6 first, but if you want deeper story of it, play touhou 1. The latest touhou is 16.5, there will be more soon.

nerdy answer: *pushes up glasses* Only those truly destined for greatness in the Touhou series of bullet hells will start with touhou 6 and play the entire series and master the difficulties and appreciate every musical masterpiece created by ZUN our lord and savior non-nerdy answer: yeah touhou is pretty fun

@@mikaelnren4144 Yes play it, it's probably the most polished and graphically astonishing looking fanmade Touhou game there is. Also it's both challenging, but doable for anyone on Lunatic, which is a rare occasion for the series.
