If I had a nickle for every time Umber made an incredible song from the pov of a mermaid I'd have three nickles, which isn't a lot but it's impressive that it's happened thrice.

The cover art makes me feel like the mermaid won this one. They gave away everything away in the original song, now the people are offering their organs. All hail the sea god.

The original feels like the mermaid had met a cruel end when you did that cover but hearing this version almost feels like a really intricate revenge story when they realized their love was spent on the wrong person and I dig it so so much.
