【MMD】Raziel Defies the Elder God【Soul Reaver 2】 

It's been awhile, but here's another Soul Reaver 2 recreated scene -- albeit a much shorter one this time. Still wishing I had access to better models to make these animations more worthwhile and exciting, but I'm making do with what I have.

I like the way that Raziel moves his hands more when he talks. It makes it more dynamic for the dialog scenes since he doesn't have a mouth, so his big old Spider-Man eyes and body language has to do the bulk of the acting (beyond Michael Bells dulcet tones.) Great stuff

"Do not test my patience Raziel." "Why, aren't you the one with infinite patience?" 😏

The lore, the voice acting, the dark story... what games these were, I'm so glad they made them.

This came at a perfect time, considering the survey that Crystal Dynamics released earlier this month regarding a potential new LoK game after the IP acquisition. I love the animation here, it adds so much more characterisation. Even with no pupils and mouth to work with, the wide gestures, subtle positioning of the eyelids and camera angles really elevate this scene above the original. It's very impressive!

They HAVE TO hire you for the remake of the series as well for other games, you have an amazing talent

I just hope Crystal Dynamics calls You when they are ready to do the remake.

Dear god, the Elder God looks terrifying here. I'd had nightmares as a child if I saw him like this. But absolutely stunning animation work, so expressive and detailed. If the games were remade with this level of detail, that would be awesome.

Loving these remakes. Absolutely awesome. Now all I need in my life is Raziel’s first meeting with Janos Auldrin and his death and declaration for vengeance against the Sarafan. Then I can die in content 😊

Dammnnnnn man this was probably one of the most intense scenes imo during Soul Reaver 2 because you are basically learning the truth of the history of the world for yourself and in both Blood Omen and Soul Reaver you were only given one half of the story and the other is yours to discover. But won't lie it was weird for me at first to think that the Elder God was actually on my side but then in SR2 you learn that is not the way of it....still what a clean animation. Worth the wait.

Seriously, seeing the quality of animations like these gives me hope for a remake one day. Your work is sublime in its quality and execution.

I absolutely love the more dynamic camera angles and varied animation on Raziel here. Really helps in making an already great scene even better!

Why was I never notified of this masterful followup? The regard this shows for the source animation while also emphasizing body language just enough to express what the original relied on voice work to convey, all without going overboard is impeccable. Raziel's personality and emotions radiate through the movements you've added. I am in awe. Superb job on this.

Rarely do I comment on random videos I find across YT, but this was just an excellent modern recreation of my childhood game - props to you, this is amazing. Once again I am reminded how awesome the voice acting in this game really was - it's a shame that the VA for the Elder God has unfortunately passed away.

I always love so much this scene ! Sassy Raziel is the best ! I'm really praying for you to do many scenes from LOK. I would pay for it ! It's insane how you're always bring us so many gems.

It's still my favorite series, yes even Blood Omen 2. I love everything about it, the story, the voice acting, the quotes engraved in my brain, the idea that the choice of the first game was no choice at all, Outtakes that show how much fun they had.

I showed this to my sister after she had her wisdom teeth yanked and was nice and loopy, hoping it might spook her, but no - she couldnt stop laughing. Raziel's "floopy" hair made her day.

This made me realize one thing, a hint as to Raziel's true potential. The Elder God chastises him for failing. Despite the fact by his own admittance, he is omnipresent, omniscient, you can have conversations in the future, and continue them in the past. Yet here the elder who is all knowing about other's fates, actions, what they will and wont do, chastises you, for failing. And there is the hint.

I loved the Script and the actors who did the voices of kain and razeal were awesome

I just recently found your "rewamped" scenes of my favorite franchise ... dude your work is awesome, some studio should hire you, give you team and credit to make this beautifully writen game to shine once again in new "clothes" ! Amazing work !

Hot damn bro, so crisp so beautiful. This raziel model truly embodies the "SOUL REAVER" look. I always wished they would had raziel make an appearance in the room where soul reaver was found in avenus. The floor gave impression u were in the heavens above nosgoth n the golden angel statue looking triumphantly downward. The sword sounds like fallen angel with that scream. That room's eeriness was perfect

this game has more quality writing in one cutscene than entire multi-billion series get in an entire season.

Yet another remade scene done not only justice but also with added little things to make it even better.

i...i dare say this is as close as we are going to get to a "remake" of soul reaver 2. Same lines, Same scenes, Better graphics, Better everything, Better movements, Better body language, Better everything! Same lines same story. Perfection. Raziels movements in this clearly out class the dated animations from the PS2 (There is absolutely nothing wrong with the PS2 animations for the record. But this is clearly superior!) You are spear heading what the soul reaver fans want. Well done.

Once again this is amazing. Although I do love the murky waters where the elder god lives in the original, but I like the character gesture and facial expression on Raziel's face.Great Job!!

To who ever keeps making these & the models, just want to say thank you. Currently I am 26, played these games when I was 16, been waiting for a sequel to Defiance for quite a while. This being the closest thing, to me seeing my favorite series remade or a sequel, thanks again.

For a second I was like "why isn't his cape moving with his mouth" then I remembered he had no jaw lol. That you could put so much expression into his eyes and movements with a character that has no jaw and move is truly impressive.

This is all i would need. If there is a remake in the works, they can just do this, and I would buy it. Leave the voice acting and audio alone, enhance the visuals to at least this caliber, refine the gameplay, and I'd be golden. Phenomenal work.

I REALLY hope the next one you do is either the scene where Kain and Raziel talk whilst in the future in this same game, or the final scene when kain rips the soul reaver out of raziel

There is one thing I loved about this, while an old game yes, you seemed to have lovingly captured Raziel's essence in this scene and made it look like he's in Defiance (but WAY better rendered). Because in Defiance, he also is very expressive with his eyes and hand movements. (I played the game enough to know, esp the kain vs Raziel scene and him speaking with Turel beforehand and the possessed circle member.) You captured that perfectly here from LOK Defiance, heck from Raziel himself as I said. You matched MB's voice and sass perfectly in his movements here as he told off the Elder God for his hypocrisy. A damn good job well done I must say!

Can you imagine, FromSoftware had this in their hands, I means the gameplay mechanism , a souls/borne type of game with all the original voices kept but open world like elden ring but a hint of bloodborne and the boss fights as epic as dark souls!
