All those friends that cheated with her husband are just as bad as he is. I don't think they deserved to be forgiven. They were not purely victims. Only one of them remained truly loyal to her. I would have kicked the others to the curb after using them to expose him. They never thought of her feelings when they betrayed her.
Precisely. My mum used to say 'never set yourself on fire, to keep someone else warm'. She said she'd read it somewhere and it stuck with her, she'd remind herself about it. However, she did stay with my cheater father right up until she died. So I guess if we love someone we don't look to save ourselves first. The wife loves her friends, so forgives them - even if they don't deserve it. She doesn't love her husband, so won't forgive (although he did a LOT of shit) - messed up all round really.
