Controversial reboot version by director Kazuya Shiraishi, who is always seeking for the intense “human” and “violence” dramas.
The main cast is Hidetoshi Nishijima who played in the "DRIVE MY CAR" (won the prize on Academy Award for Best International Feature Film), and Tomoya Nakamura who is a talented young actor.
It will be coming to amazon prime video from October 28, 2022!!

Except the remake did not have a stuntman do cool tricks. The bike speed was well under speed limit. Grandma speed for kamen riders. Rider also lacked bike finisher which he performed by jumping out and doing a kick/punch. Or ram the monster with insane speed finisher. A big step up from amazon. Still couldn’t beat the original tho.

@@panda5996 A lot of the bike scenes were on green-screen sets. According to what people have said for the longest time, the reason why you've seen series deviate from bike stunts is because its much more regulated by the law now compared to what it was years ago.

Tbf Kamen Rider im modern day has always been mature themed but because they are marketing as a kid-teen aged show they cannot do gore or violent stuff. Im glad to have Amazon and Black Sun as a show I could watch as an adult as its basically KR unleashed! Always loved Toei for trying new things and not stick with the "old ways".

Yeah last three KR has been mid (Saber, Revice, Geats) with very cheap looking weapons I get they wanna sell toys but it breaks suspension of belief when the heroes look like theyre fighting with brittle cheap looking plastic 🤣

@@budgiecat9039 Totaly. One of the reasons that Zero-One didnt got through to me completly. I'm all for the more kid-friendly Kamen Rider's, but i need more of the "gritty ones" as well. There was not a shortage in toys for Shin Godzilla for example, and that movie was really not aimed for kids. You can still sell toys is my point.

@@konkavstylisten Yeah yeah yep. In the past I think it was "lets make a Kamen Rider show', and then the toys were created for said show. Now its the reverse. It seems. the toys are made first, and then the showrunners have to scramble together to figure out how to make a show around them that makes sense.

@@budgiecat9039 Oh god... it's -just- almost like what happened with the Burtonverse Batman movies. Started gritty and dark with the 89 film and it's first sequel (Returns), then Burton got booted so a more kid-friendly route could be taken with the second sequel (Forever), and when the third sequel (& Robin) was being made the toy companies were given the concept arts for the vehicles/costumes/weapons and the movie got stuck having to use them for the final design. It might not be exact, but it rhymes more than enough to legitimately concern me.

This felt like a live-action adaptation of an anime....only instead of the source being an anime, it was a tokusatsu.....but it has one of those live-action-adaptation-of-an-anime vibes

@@calebgoodman3028 i know he is a mangaka. He is in my top 3 with araki and togashi. But what i mean is that this movie feels likean adaptation of an anime, not an adaptation of a manga. Like attack on titan, deathnote, bleach and full metal alchemist. I know there are other live action adaptations of manga that didn't have animeadaptation, but i am specifically refering to anime to live action

He is the twin of Black in the manga. So I guess the director wants to take half of both 1988 show and the manga: He's not his exact twin but he does mirroring henshin.

@@Ticketman99 Outsiders isn't even really Ryuki, it looks like an Inoue crossover fever dream that happens to star Ouja. As much as I don't think a Ryuki reboot would add anything important or meaningful that the original didn't cover, a retelling with a smaller episode count and tighter narrative could be really interesting.

I came into the kamen rider franchise by black and rx. I really like this remake even if its not Tetsuo Kurata which I adore a lot taking it as a reimagine rather than compare it with the legendary classic. I love the dark and realism tone to it rather than those toy gimmick riders nowadays.

I like the way they made Black Sun and Shadow Moon look similar even look more alike than the old series. I remember when I read the original manga of black, I really like the setting they made them look even 100% alike. So when kotaro killed nobuhiko = he became the king in the future he saw.

IIRC OPM's opening was JAM Project, right? I had to google to see if Ichirou Mizuki was involved, but he's sadly on medical recovery. He really had an effect on anime music.
