For those who are kind of confused: The story is about a girl who dreams she is the god of space. She has visions of the world ending, and realizes these visions are what are actually going to happen, so she tries to warn everyone.
Ah what a sweet and relaxing song... Wait a second *suddenly realize there's no warning at the beginning about disturbing subject or bright, flickering imagery* HOLY SH*T
are we just not gonna talk about how GHOST made this song with a _Japanese_ vocaloid? I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Otomachi Una only have a Japanese voicebank? that seems really hard to do, so props to GHOST.
They also did the same with vFlower, vFlower doesn't have an English voicebank, but GHOST made her speak English in Appetite of a People Pleaser, Novocaine and Hyperdontia(the latter 2 being collaborations with Creep-P, GHOST did the vocals/lyrics, Creep did the mixing and instrumentals) GHOST is extremely talented and underrated for their hard work (There's other people who do this too and with other voicebanks, not just GHOST and not just with Una/vFlower, definitely recommend finding those people because I haven't found many, but one of those is "ponkansoup" I think, creator of "Over✖️Dosage" with vFlower, it's also very similar to GHOST's style in my opinion and well made if you want to look into JapaneseVB-English songs) Also OPs pfp 👌 10/10 would Shuichi again
@@AnatomicallyIncorrectCat Japanese is broken into syllables(ai, ki, no, ro, etc.) They put those syllable together to make words from the English language! (sorry I'm a month late, haha)
@@appleandroid7954 It's a beautiful night outside The stars are melting away The angels are turning around to ace you On nights like these Our lives will never be the same We're two of a kind
Wow, I'm barely passing this class. I should really do this project to not fail! *_new GHOST video_* *pushes everything off table* Who needs a college degree anyway?
I know that the generally accepted theory is that it’s about a little girl who dreams about being the god of space and seeing the world end, but is it just me feeling like this might be about abandonment? Maybe it’s just because I’ve been watching too much Ninjago recently, but I feel like this is a metaphor for being abandoned/given away/separated from your parents as a small child. “I can see the stars are melting away” - The chaotic and painful emotions the child experiences. “As I stood by the window” - Being abandoned. “Turning around to face you” - The child seeing their parents for the last time. “I can see the strings of fate falling apart” - See “I can see the stars melting away.” “Today, our lives will never be the same” - It seems kind of obvious how this fits my theory. “We were two of kind” - Referring to the child and their parent/parents, or perhaps their siblings. I could probably find more, but these were the first few that came to mind. I’m not an expert on abandonment, I have a pretty healthy relationship with my immediate family (thank goodness). But this is just my theory.
“I can see the strings of fate falling apart” could also be about how things she thought would be everlasting, like her relationship with her parents, are suddenly being taken away, and all the plans and things she took for granted, the 'strings of fate' are suddenly ripped apart from her, and she can only sit and watch it happen
theory time so there's this little girl (um let's just call her mika bc idk) is apparently born with "a visual hallucination problem" even though the things she sees are real. she sees this other pretty girl who is the space goddess, (let's call her meka lol) and talks to her every night through the window. they eventually become best friends. as days progress, meka warns mika that she was told something bad will happen to the earth in the future, though mika doesn't believe her. each day meka warns her and warns her, but mika still ignores her. meka becomes angry because of this, and destroys the planet. after this, she realizes she has killed mika and this is what she was warned about. she goes to her home planet and makes a little grave for mika. on her grave, she puts "we were two of a kind."
This song is really... _out of this world~_ (but seriously, you collaborating with artists is such a cool thing to do~ I hope I can participate someday!~)
actually i just realised ghost has a habit for things that are watching from afar "i was watching from afar" two of a kind "stars always watching from afar" pathalogical facade
YEA BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII- *runs out of breath* *deep inhale* -IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
GHOST lol, I eat granola way too much. I'm eating some granola bites cereal. It's actually pretty good, like an oatmeal cookie that's small and crunchy(it was a good munch😉) 😁
Lyrics I can see the stars are melting away A telescope foretold our eternity as I stood by the window Turning around to face you, turning around to tell you I told you so, the stars are melting away And it's my place to say today, this space will never be the same For Two of a Kind I can see the strings of fate falling apart And I can see the wings of heaven Shedding their feathers, in unison the angels are Turning around to face you, turning around to show you So heed the stars, their light will leave us in the dark In the depths of our hearts A time when I was watching from afar Over Two of a Kind You saw the stars are melting away And it's my place to say today, our lives will never be the same We Were Two of a Kind
oh I get the story of the song. So there was a girl who saw the future (the destruction of the stars and the universe) and then a goddess of space shows up and said,"Go and tell everyone that the stars are melting away" and after time the Goddess told the world and the people that the universe will end, then said that gods and humans are different.
So, here's my personal theory on the song: The main character (I don't know what name was given to her; I'm going to call her Amelie Nijiloli and say that she's Japanese-Canadian) has a chronic disease. Think of her like of Nagisa Furukawa from the anime Clannad, but younger. She is very interested in space and loves to watch the night skies with her plush rabbit, let's call it Snowflake. So, Snowflake is her only friend, until she meets a human very similar to her and the three often discuss issues of space or watch the stars together. However, she knows that she might die soon due to her disease (the "end of the world" thing is a metaphor for death in my opinion, and it's a reference to what my mom said to me, and that was "Everybody has their own end of the world and it's their death" after I asked her what does she think the end of the world will look like), so she gets depressed and has visions of her death, but she tries to enjoy the time she has to spend before her passing. She develops a close bond with her new friend, maybe even falls in love with them. But the Grim Reaper is someone that nobody can escape, so Amelie eventually dies by the side of Snowflake and her human friend. She was an innocent child while she was alive, so she obviously goes to Heaven and from there, she watches over the one who brightened up her short life and waits for them to join her in the afterlife, so that they can be together forever.
I feel like there's supposed to be like...a story to this song....and it kind of remind me of Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea but....I can't quite get what it's all about. Mirror universes? space and time? parallel universes?
Basically a girl dreams about being the god of space, and in her dream she sees like, visions of the world ending and "the Stars melting away." She realizes then that she needs to tell everyone about the end of the world's arrival after she wakes up from her dream, this the "turning around to tell you."
Here’s what I think, It revolves around a girl with 2 forms, a normal girl and a star guardian. They were both the same person yet different people different being able to communicate via dreams, one day, she here’s about the stars burning up and disappearing so one night she gives up her normal form to become a full time star guardian. They were 2 of a kind. I’m probably wrong or partially right, like she had one form and gave it up to become a star guardian idk. This is what I think personality! Have a good day and stay hydrated Edit: The person speaking( the normal girl and star guardian) changes a bit in my headcannon. Edit: after listening to the song again I think it just the star guardian singing. I suck at writing headcannons for songs as it’s my first time
I never quite had an interpretation, but when I heard the word "star", I immediately thought of Rosalina from the Mario franchise. This song is actually kind of sad if you see it as the first luma (a type of star creature) Rosalina encountered dies, turning into a planet or star which is what happens when lumas die. Also, on the mission she went on with the first luma, she brought a telescope and her favorite stuffed animal, which was a rabbit. So, basically, I see this song as Rosalina's process of becoming the princess of the stars, and dealing with the loss of the luma. Now, I'm not trying to say the song is too familiar to that idea. Until reading one of the other comments, I didn't know what the real story was. But, yeah that's my interpretation :) Good job, GHOST! Also wish i could tune Una as well as you
This song kinda made me cry because of me and one of my friends, we were almost two of a kind too. But she recently passed away leaving me sad and heartbroken of her loss.
This great! This song's pretty unique, and all the artists did great! Had to listen twice since the first time I was just admiring all the art lol Good work as always!
“So heed the stars, they’re light will leave us in the dark. In the depths of our hearts, a time when I was watching from afar over two of a kind.” Beautiful ❤️ My favorite part!
tysm!! yeah yeah when i do stuff like this i put out a post about it on twitter, tumblr and deviantart so keep an eye out there! though it probably won't be for a while till i do another one of these ;;
GHOST hECC I didn't know you'd respond this quickly! (or that you even had a dA could you please link/tell me what it is X3) and awesome! Whenever or whatever you want to do is awesome with me and probably everyone else! =D
I watched this probably a hundred times and I just want to comment for the sake of commenting. This is one of the best songs I know and the artwork just adds perfectly.
This is the final boss of the ghost songs lol [Edit] ; this is really amazing. This is a really good song! It’s very polished and the artists were amazing!
Friend: "So who have been your favorite music artists lately?" Me: *Proceeds to put on a playlist with every GHOST, Creep-P, and Steampianist song.* Friend: "What are yo-" Me: *Chucks phone at her face* "LISTEN NOW!"
Honestly reminds me of that one dream i had of the world ending, the sun Beautifully yet horrifically blowing up, starting off slow but quickly making everything go white as it reached our planet, makes me wanna c r y.
Aaaa Otomachi Una! A very underrated Vocaloid, I think! I wanted to audition something for this PV too but I was too shy to... I regret it a little but daaamn all these drawings are so good so I'm not gonna regret it too much. I'll just enjoy the song and video because they're awesome!
(I had to make something based heavily on this song lol) "Fading time" I will take us to a place A place that will eventually exist No angels, no gods, no universe, no time Everything dead, the end of time itself where everything stops existing We are two of a kind, Two who will live on when everything else does not The angels shedding their wings in unison as they stare at us The gates of heaven crumbling into decay and ruin The fires of hell extinguished and cold As the stars melt away and the gods die We will all be what's left
Pinkgirl234 No, this is her Japanese voicebank. GHOST is just REALLY good at seamless English songs with JP 'loids. also, I can hear how Una Sugar would sound like miku
No, it's just a character that GHOST created for the video, like Kennith from "COLORBARS", Nancy from "Housewife Radio" or Christopher Pierre from "The Distortionist". Una doesn't resemble any of the girls in one bit.
Does this song have a meaning? I'm used to seeing explanations of songs in the description, so I was just wondering if this one had a meaning to it, though it seems like it.
I think that the girl had an older sister/twin that died. She believed that her sister was guiding her in the form of stars (whatever that means lol). She stopped believing at some point, because no matter how hard she tried to convince herself that her sister was still there, her misery out of her got the better of the girl. That's why she said "The stars are melting away." in the song. This isn't really the meaning of the song, it's my interpretation, unless GHOST puts the meaning behind it soon.
@ kawaii maroon that's really interesting tbh! @ lblu1181 i made the song about a girl who, in her dreams, is the god of space, sees visions of the universe ending, and tries to warn everyone about it, but of course ppl can make their own interpretations!
Hi 7 months later, this is the ONLY Vocaloid song that has ever made me cry. I was going through a rough patch so I listened to this and woah would you look at that my eyes are leaking. So uh I'd take that as a massive win.
Little Blair Ghost said it's about a girl who is the God of Space in her dreams and sees the Universe dying in the future. She tries to warn people but nobody listens to her until it's too late.
This song's truly beautiful, both vocal, instrumental and art-vise. And the multiple artists that made art for this made the whole song seem more fluent! Greatly done, GHOST & Co. !
My theory of this is there are two friends who see each other as siblings. One a little girl(I’ll say girl 1) the other is a sort of supernatural being or god (I’ll say girl 2) of some sort. Possibly indirectly because of girl 2 the earth is being destroyed and girl 2 warns girl 1 because that is all she can do. Then girl 1 is killed because of the world being destroyed leaving only girl 2 left devastated that girl 1 is dead. “We were two of a kind.” I’m probably wrong but that’s my interpretation
i was never allowed to listen to this song, enforced by mom who didnt like the screeching sounds coming out my headphones and now that i have my computer away from her, upstairs allowed to listen to whatever the hell i want is awesome. this song reflects a huge portion of my life and it still does. its very relatable.. great job ghost
Still one of the best GHOST songs to date. Granted, it isn't really comparable to present works as it seems to be in a genre of it's own, but it's still among my favorites. I'd love to see a remaster.
GHOST I JUST WANNA SAY THANK YOU FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL SONG AND FOR HELPING ME FIND MY FAV ARTIST AGAIN (its pyo btw) I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THEM FOR A LONG TIME
This song is simply beautiful! I love how you used Otomachi Una's voice, It goes perfectly well with the song. Not only that, the designs are equally stunning as well! I hope you make more of these kinds of songs in the future. I also hope that you use Una in some of those songs! (Wait. This is not an English voice bank? It sounds better than most English Vocaloids!) Amazing work!
AAAAA THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME BE A PART OF THIS GHOST!!! ITS AMAZING IM SO HAPPY ivi and to everybody else who did a draw for it: YOURE AWESOME AND I LOVE YOU
When theres no warning at the beginning of the song: LETS GET IT 💃🏽🕺🏽💃🏽🕺🏽💃🏽🕺🏽 Also I absolutely adore this song, the theme, the art, the sound, the vocaloid used. Everything about it is just perfect and I really do love it. And it hits me on a personal level. I just really do think it's an amazing song
