@@eaglegosuperskarmor Wheatley doesn’t really have a huge ego, quite the opposite actually. He’s clearly embarrassed by what he was designed to be, and goes out of his way to overcompensate for it (just not very successfully). If he really had that massive of an ego then idk why he’d feel bad for having been “bossy and monstrous”
Its amazing how during the first interaction with Wheatley she managed to stay in position long enough to trigger the other voice lines and the 'amigo' one happens to stick throughout the entirety of the gameplay. Absolutely amazing!
@@FoxNinja4000 I figured the deletion was a fake and the song is a continuation, just as Still Alive was. The "maybe I'll stop feeling so bad" is still there, even after GladOS says Caroline is deleted.
@@FoxNinja4000 I don’t think so, considering she let you live at the end, and she obviously didn’t forget about the events of the game since she mentions the potato.
What still remains one of my favorite touches of this is how much emotion subtly slipped into GLaDOS's voice, that you don't notice until it's gone when she deletes Caroline. The GLaDOS speaking afterwards sounds the same as the first game, but you didn't notice the change because it happened so slowly over the course of this game.
I don't think she actually deleted Caronline. She's a lying tsundere so there's no way to know. Also that slip of emotion, it's been happening since the end of Portal 1, after you destroy the cores. And it just gets stronger and more pronounced after you wake her up and she's in full-bore revenge mode, and only gets stronger from there as she is humilated, put in a potato, taken through the old facility to learn who she was in life, etc. And even after she 'deletes' Caroline, it's still there, like when she's railing on you and calling you a mute lunatic or laughing. Caroline or no, she definitely still feels.
@@mgh7634 I'd like to point out that because GlaDOS originates from Caroline's brain, it's impossible to completely separate the consciousness that makes her up as an individual. I'd assume it's a similar concept of copying brain mapped data like in the Horror game SOMA. Regardless if her consciousness is uploaded or copied, her memories cannot be deleted by her A.I. self, nor from the aperture science enrichment center's announcer despite it confirming the action, and no personality cores can dampen or hinder her anymore. In short, Caroline is GlaDOS & GlaDOS is Caroline, they cannot be separated because the are the same entity.
I am THOROUGHLY surprised how Marine actually breezed through Portal 1 and 2 in minimal time. Not as fast as Coco's but still. I feel like Botan should also play this game. It would fit her too since she's one of the smartest girls in Hololive.
I don't know why, but I literally could not stop crying while listen to both the opera and the song, It just.... Felt so nostalgic and happy at the same time. I'm so happy that marine got to play one of my favorite games of all times.
Valve is one of the company that really know how to make the best game out there, but sadly they don't do it anymore, since it's not their main business (well, there's half life:alyx ofc, but still) Good thing that this is an old game, so my pc can finally play this masterpiece hehe
I genuinely would like to listen to Marine sing in a mezzo voice to something that is operatic. As she was mock singing to the operatic part, she sounded really good. I think she's an amazingly talented singer.
Cara bella, cara mia bella! (Beautiful dear, my darling beauty!) Mia bambina, oh ciel! (My little girl, oh heaven!) Che la stima! Che la stima! (How I adore you! How I adore you!) O cara mia, addio! (Oh my dear, farewell!) [Verse 2] La mia bambina cara, (My dear little girl,) Perche non passi lontana? (Why not go a long way away?) Si, lontana da Scienza! (Yes, far from Science!) Cara, cara mia bambina, (Dear, my beloved little girl,) Ah, mia bella! (Ah, my beautiful one!) [Verse 3] Ah, mia cara! Ah, mia cara! (Ah, my dear! Ah, my dear!) Ah, mia bambina! (Ah, my little girl!) Oh cara, cara mia! (Oh dear, my dear!) *Instrumental Break* [Repeat Verse 3] Mia cara! Ah, mia cara! (My dear! Ah, my dear!) Ah, mia bambina! (Ah, my little girl!) Oh cara, cara mia! (Oh dear, my dear!)
chima's cover of this song is FUCKING AMAZING. i highly reccomend listening to her sing it! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5z39--ZYaes.html
I love the shocked reactions to the turrets which then change into relief when they start singing. Never gets old. And I've probably watched more than a hundred portal 2 playthroughs.
I never realized before that GlaDOS was admiting that she was feeling bad because Chell was leaving. That's kinda sad. Great video tho, Marine is so cute.
It's a shame that Valve was the one who made Steam. They make games better than anyone, but they have basically no financial incentive to. At most they'll pump out a game now and then almost like a hobby, like Alyx.
@@dantecarangelo1083 Nippon Electronics Corporation. The company that dominated the Japanese PC scene from the 80s up to mid 2000s; consequentially made the regular Japanese's transition to Windows PC hard. It's partly why there are waifu versions of Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1. Also the Internet Explorer/Edge.
@@KalilIllinois they weren't marketed as heavily on the consoles. Even less so for the PS3; whom Japanese-made RPGs delivered its early years. Xbox 360 is really a no-point as it's a dead console in Japan, nearly as dead as the PS5 except the latter is artificially-scarce while the former is pure due to no interest.
It doesn't look like the Japanese lyric translation picked up the ambiguous "glad/bad" line. Though, I'm not really sure how that would work in translation.
@@davidy22 How do you figure? My interpretation is "Ano toki wa warai ga tomarimasen deshita" = "At that time (when you tried to kill me twice) the laughter wouldn't stop" "watashi wa waratteimasen deshitaga" = "But I wasn't laughing" It isn't specified clearly whose laughter it is in the first line but given the reminiscing context it could be both of them. Doesn't seem that butchered
Probably because they translated the official captions, which explicitly have "I'll stop feeling so bad" as the redacted line. I don't think it's meant to be ambiguous; it's redacted in the transcript because GLaDOS doesn't want to admit she's sad about it.
i was genuinely puzzled what line they meant because that is clearly, clearly "bad". she even redacted it so you wouldn't see it, it almost couldn't be any /less/ ambiguous
After reading the English lyrics, I felt that this song was Glados's way of saying "Upon realizing that Caroline and I were the same person, I realized that I love you Chell. My daughter." Such a beautiful song. Marine is adorable 🤣
@@adsgalore777 Cara bel, cara mia bella! Mia bambina, oh ciel! (Note this is a pun; "ciel" is pronounced "Chell", so the line could be saying ) Che la stima! Che la stima! O cara mia, addio! @@Acorn_Anomaly Ohhhhhhhh wow! Finished the game a few times and never once I thought of looking up the lyrics. All the time I was like Senchou singing like an idiot lol
@@adsgalore777 glados is the result of Caroline being implanted in the IA body. So it's impossible to delete her. Glados lied for chell leaving aperture without any regrets and never come back. She made the turret song in Italian, because chell would never understand it. Yes she is a big tsundere. My English is bad btw sorry
I like how the space Core is literally just Orbiting Wheatley lmao, it's as if Wheatley is a massive space object that has it's own gravitational orbit
Portal 2 is one of those games I consider close to perfect. Obviously there's always room to improve, but it delivered on and exceeded all expectations as both its own game and a sequel to another great game.
It's amazing how fun it is to watch Senchou get invested in a game. Subnautica, Portal 1 and 2 its great how she interacts with the Game and it's characters. I'm looking forward to her Below Zero play through.
Hopefully she doesn't find all of the al-an body part locations and even go through the trouble of reaching fabricator caverns before actually finding al-an.... like i did....
With how much Marine likes Glados, I wonder how she would react to the lyrics of the turret opera, which ends up being a very sweet song praising Chell as a daughter.
