About *THIS VERSION* of the game, once there's a lot of people don't know that it is, or don't know how to Google about it: This version of the game is called *Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha Taru* (Taru means "Barrel" in japanese). This version was a contest prize from Famitsu (that's why there's the "NOT FOR SALE" advise). Those who make the top 10 best score (per character) at the Barrel Bonus Game (sending a VHS with the gameplay) received a copy of this version of the game as a prize. It's said this version of the game was a lottery prize after that. What this version of the game have, compared from the original game: > All secret characters already unlocked; > Only Training Mode, Expert Mode and Barrel Bonus Games available; > Expert Mode (Trials) only for the secret characters (secret characters don't have trials in the original game); > Aside the original Barrel Bonus game, there's an extra Barrel Bonus game with an alternative barrel spawn pattern; > Possibility to save the replay of the bonus game at the Memory Card; > Replays of the bonus game available in-disc (possibly the best performances of the contest).

This is the "Taru Tokubetsuban" ("Barrel Special Edition"), which was given out by Famitsu magazine as a prize for their "Sexy Score Attack" contest. Players would record a VHS tape of them playing the Barrel Bonus Game, and the top 10 scorers would receive this disc. Aside from basic options like button config and memory card management, the only mode available is Practice Mode, which consists of: • Expert Mode trials for the four secret characters (Evil Ryu, Bloody Hokuto, Cycloid-ß, and Cycloid-γ), who don't have trials in the main game. • The Barrel Bonus Game, this time with two variants: Game A (the original) and Game B (an exclusive version with new barrel patterns). Unlike the base game, this one allows you to record replays and save them to the memory card. • Bonus Replay, which allows you to view saved bonus game replays, as well as six prerecorded sample replays.
