I owned the original one so many years ago. It definitely had extremely limited posability. I remember buying it for $70 on Amazon I think. The left arm of my old Spacegodzilla also kept falling for some reason, and so I sold it. I'm buying the new version just to add him back to my collection. I wish Monsterarts would update these old bodies to modern ones instead of just using the exact same articulation system.
The wings for the decisive battle ver. of Mecha-King Ghidorah are engineered far more stable than the original, so maybe Bandai's only altering old sculpts that are easily broken or hard to pose?...
I’ve missed both releases because it was out of print or I couldn’t afford it, but I hoped onto this preorder so fast because I didn’t want to miss out again. Personally I love these colors so much and I love the multicolored spines. I know it’s supposed to be a certain look in the movie but I think this is the most interesting color scheme I’ve seen. Super glad it will make its way to the collection
I really wish these redone new versions would come with the same accessories the originals did. I missed out on the first Moguera but preordered the new docking one. Unfortunately unlike the first version there’s no chest beam effect.
The design and idead of space godzilla is cool I just hate all those weird body’s they had back then with the thick ass legs and stuff hope we get a new design in monsterverse
I have the OG and they look similar. He is accurate to the movie but its kinda scene specific. I feel like if you want just a neutral SG then this might not be it. I love the colors though. My OG has horrible articulation. His right arm pops off, head pops off and tail is just a mess. Over the years the paint Bandi used on his shoulders has kinda turned colors and even chipped. And he has stayed in my display since I got him. The hips on the OG will spread out pretty far but you do have to work with it a bit. One thing I liked about the OG was the beam. It was one of the few beams that would stay in his mouth without the need of the stand (the base of the stand was really cool though). Ive got mine preordered and I'm planning on adding him to a diorama when the new MOGUREA comes out. Unrelated, but anyone else super bummed about the newly announced G-1, -color? Like really Bandi???? $140 for a B/W repaint with no accessories...
The -1 BW one is a good pick up for people who didn't get the original and are keen for one now. The price on the original is pretty high, so good way to help curb the price increases too. Though ideally I would be more keen on a blast version but at least I can skip this one.
@@Rockchala_YT Yep, I was expecting both a blast version and B/W, but I wish this B/W version had something extra like a white heat ray or even a little poster like we got with some previous repaints. I'll still get him because I have all the rest, but I would have even been happy with alternate hands. I actually didnt know the original release sold out everywhere. Usually the figures stay in stock for a few months before those crazy aftermarket prices.
Yeah I am not sure what the USA is like, but at least in Japan he is hard to get and this B&W version actually sold out in under an hour... by the time I was able to check he was gone ahah
@@Rockchala_YT the first and second issues look better in paint application. Thank you, was trying to determine if I should get this or spend the extra for a better one
@@Grim3600 oh I'm going to have to look for a review talking about the head problem?🤔 I only know about the head crest that's dull in color on the original versus the repaint second edition issue.
