It takes about one and a half hours by train from Kyoto to Shigaraki(i in SHIGA pref).
I went to the Shigaraki sakkaichi held in May 2024.
It is a big event that I would like all pottery lovers to go to, where you can spend a happy time surrounded by wonderful pottery.
It is also a great opportunity to meet the artists you are looking for, as they directly exhibit and sell their works 😊.
Prices of works are as of the date of shooting. There is a possibility of change in the future. Please understand this in advance.

Cars seem to be jammed from early in the morning.
I took the train from Kyoto to Kusatsu Station (Shiga Prefecture)→Kisogawa Station, transferred to Shigaraki Kogen Railway→Shigaraki Station.
From the station it was a 15-20 minute walk. The destinations of people getting off at the same station on the same day are usually the same. So we followed the flow of people to our destination without getting lost.
Basically, it is a long, gradual uphill, so it is best to wear comfortable walking shoes. There is a lot of greenery and good scenery, so even after walking for 20 minutes, you somehow still feel refreshed.
It took about 2 hours from Kyoto Station to the venue, Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park Taiyo no Hiroba, by train and on foot (check the train schedule as there are not many trains).
