The cockpit in tank mode looks weird and the plane mode is too chubby but, compared with the other versions of the toy, this Bltzwing has the best head
Some nitpicks: 1. The cockpit sticking out of the front of the tank looks weird. 2. The bottom part of the jet form looks really bulky for an aircraft compared to it's wingspan. Other than that it looks good.
Both, sadly, are problems that have plagued the toy since time immemorial. The G1 toy's also had trouble with how bulky the jet mode turns out and the tank having that jet cockpit as well.
Someone said the cockpit/head just rotates on two mushroom pegs, and I'm willing to bet it's possible with a hobby knife to turn the rotation points into sliding channels so the faux-cockpit can push in a centimeter or so in tank mode. Make it less noticeable.
The tank COCKpit is there for g1 toy accuracy, funny thing is that its wrong the original diaclone toy that would eventually become blitzwing had promotional material that had the tank with a cockpit behind it so for the entirety of g1 blitzwing was mistransformed and this was never noticed, the instructions and box art for g1 blitzwing had the cockpit in the front, this is as because a half asleep underpaid worker mistransformed blitzwing and everyone just rolled with it
I haven't seen the toy for Animated Blitzwing, but I'm pretty curious about the transformation for him. He was my least favourite on the show but that's a personal taste thing.
Sorry to say always thought the animated blitzwing was done a bit dodgy in the toy specially in the jet mode you could literally see the tank treads at least this one try’s to hide the jet and tank with both vehicle modes
I do understand that some people might not like this because of the weird design choices, but I think what people need to understand is that they're going for a more comical, cartoon look, they aren't trying for a realistic, more passable alt modes. It's ok to not like it, just please don't blame those design choices. Another thing that i really liked about this figure is that, while the jet mode does have an obnoxious undercarriage, excluding the t30 Springer mold and TR Blitzwing mold, it's really one of the only figures that has successfully pulled off a third jet mode that actually looks like a jet. Most other triple-changers' jet mode looks like tank modes forced into a jet. *This* however actually have panels that tabs in and smoothens out to form an actual clean-looking jet mode. It does have an obnoxious tank parts hanging under but most, if not, all the tank parts aren't really forced into the jet mode and actually looks like they go somewhere. And in my book this is a passable figure, maybe not as good as t30 Springer or TR Blitzwing but still a nice figure to have nonetheless.
It was an after thought basically to justify the price point so the parts count could be on par with the scale,a very stupid accessory if u ask me but that's just my humble opinion 🤣👍
@@asaphmartinez4225 Oh, rather than make the alt modes better, or the toy in general more solid, they resort to this? Come on, Hasbro! You’re better than this!
honestly im surprised at the fact that transformers toy developers havent figured out how to incorporate treads onto transformers that have them just look at some of the ice base lego sets and their treads with are formed by pieces so couldnt the creators just idk add those and have the treads be able to split into X pieces and have them be able to form smaller treads
I really hope that there is a third party that can fix all that kibble. Maybe all new tank parts to make the bottom flatter and better hidden while in jet mode.
I honestly would pick him up, but the jet mode is unberable. I like when tripple changer that have another vehicle part in another alt mode, but it's too much. The cockpit in the tank was fine imo
I mean, the jet mode is leagues better than TR Broadside's, but so are some actual bricks. It's still kind of an 'oof' to look at, as are the front of the tank mode and the egregious gun hands they threw in as an excuse to charge more. That said, still may get him. He does look fun.
I think this should've been the time Hasbro should NOT have made the toy animation accurate. Because even the show had Blitzwing's tank mod wrong and is actually backwards from his original toy.
i like the concept in general of a Tank/Aircraft, even without the Robot parts...i wonder if there is a way to design that transformation better if the robot isn't in the way. also, at a couple points, that looked like a really cool Half-Transformation for a flying tank.
A cool IDEA for a triple changer but always ugly in execution. Official or third party, no one can get it right because there are far too many compromises
I'm sorry, but these are among THE WORST vehicle modes that I've seen so far in Transformers. The Tank mode has kibble galore of the jet mode, and the jet mode looks way to heavy to be considered as a jet. Only the robot mode looks ok.
@@johndoe-sv9th It's just how I feel about it. The Gewalt frame of Blitzwing just did a much better job in making all three modes look realistic. Sure, the head of Blitzwing's robot mode was sticking out from beneath the tank mode, but it's really small potatoes, especially when you compare Gewalt to THIS version.
@@daneyal7162 Gewalt is a third party figure, and is more expensive. So ofc it's going to have to be more intricate. This is a mainline version that is produced on a massive scale, some sacrifices had to be made to make it look more g1 accurate. Same goes with past figures. It's the same situation where you tear it apart simply because compromises were made. I'd say the tank mode on THIS version is more show accurate.
@@johndoe-sv9th i am saying each other version is better, that is all. I am not affronted, at most I am disappointed that they even mass produced this.
@@johndoe-sv9th oh wait it's the legacy one. Ah well... lets just say I'm sure hasbro did their best ballancing the price with the limited resources they have to make a product befitting the market. I just wouldn t have bothered with this design though.
